0. phoneArena 14 Mar 2013, 18:32 posted on

Taking 2012 by storm, Samsung catapulted all the way to the top last year, as the Korean based company delivered timeless devices over and over again with little pause for its rivals to combat its insatiable appetite. Claiming victory while looking down from the pinnacle of the mountain, Samsung as a whole transformed from being a competitor trying to emerge from a heap of hard rollers, to the one taking ownership of the crown in the smartphone kingdom. Today marks yet another triumphant push forward in retaining that prestigious crown, seeing that the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S IV just became official-official...

Where are you going to go now? HTC, Sony, LG or Moto?

That was kind of weak. Much of this software wad gimmicks. I am not sending a picture of the family to someone with my head in a stamp in the background. Some of the other features will be in an app soon. Language software will also be in an app. Scroll with eyes is already being created to go in all phones. So what was the WOW? I was truly excited. HTC One has my business.

Thank god that i'm not the only one that think the dual camera head stamp is stupid. I think the album thing is also stupid.

I agree 100% with you, 99.9% of their so-call features is already out, heck you can get them out of the playstore!.

This is sad, oh well, let's see what Moto and Nexus have up their sleeves.

Really, don't run through the phone at all, no settings no benchmark no .. ANYTHING just regurgitating exactly what the live show just covered. ..

Kudos on the live coverage though

People are so quick to judge this phone without actually using it. My GS3 has been great with no issues since the day I purchased it. I however have to fix cell phones for my job and nothing but HTC's come in all day. Have fun with your HTC (d)one and its integrated battery. What ground breaking features does the HTC 1 have? A 4 "ultrapixel" camera? Pleeeease!

This is nothing like an apple being as it's features are actually relevant, it has a removable battery, SD card expansion slot, incredible screen, and allows for data to be freely shared. Everyone hating on this should probably wait a little while until more is known about this phone and probably until they are able to use one themselves.

Ask yourself this. What hasn't this phone given you that you want? Chances are there isn't a phone on the market or one that is coming out in the next 6 months that compares to this phone.

Also, almost every aspect of this phone is replaceable also. So from a tech standpoint this phone is awesome. Event he charger port is replaceable! This is leaps and bounds ahead of the GSIII, HTC One, Xperia Z, Z10, Iphone 5, and I am willing to put money that it is leaps and bounds ahead of what will be the Iphone 5s and Math.

For galaxy s3 users, I don't see any reason for you to update, I'm sure you'll also be getting all those new features of touchwiz except the air view thing

Bye Bye Samsung. Trash design.

This is just the bigger version of f*cking galaxy s3
just like apple, you're releasing last year's product with an increased number.

Come on guys, Most of those new features are software based. That means you can already have them on any android device.

As long as you by Android you will make me happy. We really need to stop this in house fighting. It should be Android vs Apple not Samsung vs HTC.

Note 2 owner!

Even Apple, the company who has always made the most incremental changes in design but got off by marketing products as revolutionary, realized the need had come to release a phone with more emphasis on changing the design than Samsung. If they release a budget iPhone made of plastic it would be a good marketing ploy to highlight their budget model being crafted similar to Samsungs premium model. Samsung loyalist will always be there to defend and advocate the use of plastic in a premium handset, but had Samsung chose to use aluminum, magnesium, carbon fiber...etc to house this phone they would have millions of new loyalist and expanded their dominance eliminating any potential threat on their market share.

You do have a point! Feature-wise even the galaxy s3 is not that much of a difference compared to the note2 after they released the upgrade for the s3.

Samsung would have to rename themselves to "Amung".

What's that? Lemme grab by Galaxy S (this S is ok) 4 and open the 'S' (this S is not ok) Translator and translate what you're saying and let it talk back using 'S' Voice from the written text..

There is nothing better on the market... If you find the s4 disappointing then the other flagships are must be your biggest disappointment.

So dissapointing, acting like they are not like Apple this time and only give us new softwarefeatures, as 1080p is on paper the same as 720p (300+ ppi), the battery lifetime will be the same as the SGS3 with that screen.... and best of al, acting like they added an 8 core processor as it is just an dual unnessesairly quad core.... Sammy please add a new style of build quality please, bored of that plastick :)

So so so dissapointing :(

Are we seriously just upset about the phone design? Like 90% of people use phone cases. Better battery, processor, GPU, and features? I'm on board.

Look at all these hater here talking about how disappointed they are and they're buying the htc one. Who cares what you think? If you have nothing good to say about the s4 then don't say nothing at all.

I understand what your saying but, most people didn't come to hate on the SG4. They came to see "the next big thing". If people are disappointed I don't think they should have hide it just because you might not like there opinion. That what the comment section is for.

If I am looking for an upgrade I probably will go for HTC ONE this year. Had the Galaxy S3, the Note 2 and the Iphone 5. I realize I do appreciate a more sophisticated design and a better built quality. I don't really care about the specs anymore, as of all flagship devices are more than capable of handling any daily tasks. HTC for me this year! Cheers to something that actually feels NEW!!!!

I feel like that's what its going to be from now on. People stopped caring about the spec since iPhone (yes iPhone). As long as the phone works for them, that's what they will care about
