The PenTile matrix arrangement on the HD Super AMOLED display doesn't seem to affect the way the picture is perceived and the Quadrant scores are translated as "fastest produced", plus a few sample photos have been captured...

No, it looks like both but more on the side of a S2- I own an S2 (and it has went wrong twice in three months *&^%$#@!) and I have held a Wifi 5.0 in my hands many times. I know very well what they are like. Love them both for the speed and the big screen and hate them for fraility of the former and lack of good specs for the latter. I had wished them combined into one - and now they did! Note has an even bigger screen and even lighter than W5.0 and faster then S2! I am willing to pay bigger money but just hope it works out well. Let's wait and see.

It isn't usually up to the manufacturer where the phone will be carried. While they do sometimes make phones for specific markets it is typically up to a country's carrier(s) whether or not they want to offer the phone. The SGSII was picked up by AT&T Sprint and T-Mobile while Verizon decided to pass to get exclusive launch rights for Nexus (Galaxy) Prime upon launch. The Note has gone through the FCC in the US and has been approved with an HSPA+ antenna signaling that it will come to AT&T when it comes to the US. This doesn't confirm a US launch either as AT&T could have gone through the process of making sure the phone would pass the FCC so they could decide at a later date whether or not to launch the phone. My guess is, with the success of the SGSII it is only inevitable that they will want to carry the next gen big brother to the SGSII. Plus with the S-Pen it will have something no other phone in the US has at this point giving it an edge in the market at this time for people who are looking for unique new devices.
