AT&T version of the Note has been recorded on video at CTIA running Ice Cream Sandwich with a whiff of TouchWiz applied over it. Even if you didn't see the firmware version, some other telling signs, like the presence of a quick access to Settings in the drop-down notifiction window suggest Android ICS is onboard...

Buy a used GS2 off contract and wait to upgrade until late 2012, when the manufacturers will release competitors to the next iphone

Since you have to ask, I think you should buy something now. The GS2, One X, and Note are badass phones and anything from here on out is becoming excessive for non-enthusiasts.
