Hate to be a downer, but if this does hit the 'states it will probably be sometime next year, especially since this is being announced in at a European conference. (And if it was coming to the US they'd probably have announced it at the Galaxy shindig they had a couple days ago.)

isnt the stylus head tooo small for a capacitive screen? resistive?

43. Mario1017 (unregistered) posted on 01 Sep 2011, 18:41

A stylus can be as sall as a needle, there is no size restricions, almost every single capacitive touch laptop has a stylus that is almost needle nosed.

46. Sjael (unregistered) posted on 02 Sep 2011, 01:45

The stylus isn't capacitive. According to something I read or watched earlier it uses magnetic resonance - like a Wacom tablet - and is in fact pressure-sensitive. That's not to say it'd ever be as good as a Wacom though. ;)

Haha, calm yourself down dude. But you're kinda right, credit must be given where it's due. So congrats Samsung for outselling a device that will almost be a 1.5 years old before its successor is released. And it only took 15 devices Samsung devices. Well done sammy, well done.

Let's hope their success doesn't freeze and come crashing down come October when the iPhone 5 is released. But then again, the iPhone 5 is trash and yesterday's news. I'm sure no wants to buy it.

TAKE THAT ISHEEP! I KNOW FOR A FACT PEOPLE AT CRAPPLE ARE CRYING RIGHT NOW AND BEING BIG BABIES BECAUSE IPHONE SUCKS AND SAMSUNG IS AHEAD AND WIDGETS ARE COOL AND MY WALLPAPER MOVES. AND GUESS WHAT?!?! I CAN REMOVE MY BATTERY AND MULTITASK FOR REAL. UH-OH, APPLE IS GOING TO SUE ME FOR SAYING THIS BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE COMPETITION CAUSE THEY'RE SCARED AND THEY'RE CRYING CAUSE THEY'RE BABIES AND THEY'RE AFRAID

this size is just plain ridiculous... i dont think many people beside Samsung fanboys will buy one of these...

8. PeterIfromsweden posted on 01 Sep 2011, 04:15 3 3

Bah, i'm watching the event live now on the samsung mobile unpacked app for bada. They are likely unveiling bada 2.0 soon : D

10. PeterIfromsweden posted on 01 Sep 2011, 04:21 2 3

and by the way, ridicoulus size, it should just be called a tablet...
get a wave 3 with a 4 inch screen instead !

19. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 01 Sep 2011, 05:37 2 2

wow Samsung is unstoppable. This is a mini tablet and I dont care if its not running honeycomb lol this goes out of the limit for cell phone. But hey might as well be able to make calls on it too. Though I'd love to see someone try to fit this in their pocket. It could be the thinnest thing ever but its def wide as hell. Kudos to Samsung for giving us all kinds of awesomeness.

24. aeon2k (unregistered) posted on 01 Sep 2011, 06:00

This is indeed too large for a "classic" smartphone. For making calls with a device like this I'd definately use a BT headset. With that the size of it while making calls is no longer an issue. And for browsing the screen size is amazing while still being small enough to fit in a jacket pocket :D

32. kelpa32 (unregistered) posted on 01 Sep 2011, 07:48

where is the new Samsung naming scheme. Galaxy Note do not fit into the four category of names.

33. protozeloz posted on 01 Sep 2011, 07:59

I think this fits into a new category! I shall Call it "tablet phone" (until i or someone comes u with a better name) too big to be considered a smartphone, to small to be a tablet and yet capable of somewhat performing like both, this could be a nice business tool among other stuff

36. iKingTrust (banned) posted on 01 Sep 2011, 09:29 3

I like this one. I might buy it for the hell of it.

37. ilia1986 posted on 01 Sep 2011, 09:44 2

Awesome - purely awesome! but...

Galaxy Note? NOTE?! What a dull name!! I demand changing it to something like Galaxy S2 HD or something like that! Until I heard the specs I was sure it was some boring miniature tablet a-la dell streak.

38. protozeloz posted on 01 Sep 2011, 13:12

what I like about the device is the resolution.... I mean this is the closet to the 4-4.3" I like while spotting a huge ress, this is around 285dpi making it really close to retina on 4-4.3 its retina like at 351dpi witch is good to see and feeds more rumors about s super high resolution hovering close to the market :D and I'd like to see improvement

39. biscutbob posted on 01 Sep 2011, 13:52

Is this something that can fit in jean pockets? lol it doesnt look like it .. i would like to play with one though.

40. Forsaken77 posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:05

What happened to everyone saying that the AT&T GSII was too small? Here's your perfect phone if you like those enormous screens.

42. CivicSi89 posted on 01 Sep 2011, 14:37 2

Sweet.... I found the phone to replace my Dell Streak!

45. Juank (unregistered) posted on 01 Sep 2011, 21:08

The tab 7.7 should get an stylus too... i think that those note taking capabilities are pretty cool! they should include that on bigger tab! Its a great tool for designers!

47. Katie Thomas (unregistered) posted on 02 Sep 2011, 08:26

Looks like this could be a happy medium between the mobile and the tablet. . . lets call it a MOTAB!!.
Also a stylus is a handy feature along side the capture and drawing features, a lot of industries will embrace this,
especially for those chubby fingered people out there. (you try drawing professionally with your finger!!)http://www.ur-mobile.com/mobiles/brands/samsung.html?page=shop.product_details&flypage=youmania_flypage.tpl&product_id=90&category_id=3

With a dual core 1.2ghz processor this phone is exceptionally fast.

Great phone with great functions but with the rumors of Galaxy s3 is all around, the specs of this Galaxy Note will definitely disappointing. with only 1.4ghz dualcore processor & 1GB of RAM...really disappointing.

50. jasrockett posted on 07 Oct 2011, 23:20

I want it now. I've got a HD2 and waited 3 mounths for it's release. As soon as I got my head around it I wanted a 6" version. Well 5.3" is close enough and 720 HD is a must for displaying my photos. The proccesor is probably 3 times as powerfull as well, etc. etc.
