Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to be unveiled in September, might cost around $900
After the disappointment brought by the Galaxy Note 7, all eyes are now on Samsung to see how the company deals with its next generation Galaxy Note, aptly called Galaxy Note 8

According to Venture Beat, the Note 8 will be officially unveiled in the second half of September, and could become Samsung's most expensive mass-produced smartphone. This contradicts a previous rumor, which had it that the Note 8 would be unveiled in August.

Reportedly, an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will cost €999 in Europe. In the US, the new device will probably cost a bit less, possibly around $900 (since European prices are always higher due to VAT).

Venture Beat has it that the Note 8 will sport a dual-curve 6.3-inch display with the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio seen on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ (pictured above). The handset will be different from the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ thanks to several features, starting with the Note series' exclusive S Pen stylus, which should be accompanied by enhanced software capabilities.

The Galaxy Note 8 will also be different thanks to a dual 12 MP rear camera, and 6 GB of RAM (2 GB more than on the Galaxy S8 family). However, the new Note will be powered by the same processor as the S8 series - Snapdragon 835, or Exynos 8895, depending on market. The handset should also have a fingerprint sensor located on the back, though it's said that this is positioned a bit farther from the camera than on the S8 and S8+. On the battery front, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to offer a 3300 mAh cell - 200 mAh smaller than the battery of the ill-fated Note 7.

It looks like the new phone's official name will be Galaxy Note8, not Galaxy Note 8 - it's a small, but visible difference, though we don't think too many people will care about (or use) the missing space between Note and 8.

Finally, Venture Beat reports that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 should be available in three color variants (black, blue, and gold), likely shortly after its official announcement.

Just like its predecessors, the Galaxy Note 8 will almost certainly be released via all relevant US carriers. We'll be here to let you know more about the handset as soon as new information comes to light.
