At last, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has arrived at our office. Needless to say, we're super excited to spend some personal time with it, to see how well the new S Pen features work, to see how good of a camera its maker has picked, and to feast our eyes to that gorgeous 1080p screen it is boasting. But before we get to that, we're sharing with you, guys, this quick tour through the device's retail packaging...

This is a discussion for a news. To read the whole news, click here

Innovation is the actual start of a new category, the phablet category.

How about that for innovation? What has Apple done but to make the same phone 4 years in a row now. lol

I wouldn't say anything on the note 3 is exactly innovative. Hardware is incremental upgrades. New software is mostly useless stuff you'll use once to impress friends and then turn off. Doesn't make it a bad phone. Moto has the best innovation lately with their active notifications and the always on voice commands. IMHO anyways.

Active notifications have been done years ago in Symbian devices from Nokia. This is nothing new or innovative.

Well... PeApple used to say: 7" tablet would dead on arrival. Shamesunk make the first 7" tablet ever, Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000, not a big hit at the start, but now even Apple and peApple go for minipAd. And now Apple even make iPhone 5s "mini" : 5c?

You are the real poor peApple.

Next Galaxy Note probably will be called "Galaxy Note 4" and their latest innovation for that would be: 4gb of ram, genuine leather back cover, new stylus design, and additional useless software enhancements (maybe it will be called, "water command")! Poor Samsung!lolz

"Poor" is probably the least educated choice of word regarding Samsung.

Now everybody kept their prices near to iPhones. Better option is to wait 3-6 months to lower the prices only if we don't run after new new devices.

Sammy and LG always brings and introduces new technology in their devices whether it is Bluetooth or USB or anything else.

The IR port is pretty sweet and the massive, removable battery (which will probably lasts 20 hours of solid use) is also pretty awesome. Not to mention the big screen and expandable memory slot. Beyond that I don't expect my phone to shoot lasers... Yet. ;)

The Note 3 was underwhelming. No OIS, barely improved design and still the same old ugly touchwiz. Still better than the jump from Iphone 5 to 5s though.

Sony Xperia Z1 could be better than oher phones, but not compare to Note 3.
No Wacom Pen(that's Note), Smaller only 5 " display (in same weight and almost same body), non swappable battery

Believe it or not...samsung has always priced its top-shelf smartphones reasonably in India.. relatively. ...for eg...unlocked note 2 was much more expensive in us and Europe compared to India...in india note 2 wss around 8-10k cheaper than iPhone 5 whereas in US note 2 was priced more.. I agree note 3 steeply priced at Rs 49, 900..but thats coz of the free falling rupee...in uk its priced at around 650 pounds...which equals to Rs 65, 000...which is 30% more expensive than indian price. .m a note 2 user...still its an awesome fone...will probably upgrade to note 4 next year

Sony are doing great no doubt; Z1 for example will battle it out with note 3, in terms of marketing, note 3 will monopolize the phablet demand. With a rumour surfacing that Z2 will be announced Jan, that would easily help and kill off the competition between Z1 and note 3. So, the focus will be between Z2, note 3, nokia phablet, htc one max and the rest. Just like note 2, I see note 3 remaining the major phablet for the years tail end and the new year. By feb, the rumour for s5 will start surfacing, Sony should handle the release of their flagship with absolute care, same with LG.

@drainage

You just registered only to bash samsung?? all your six or something post have been only 'poor samsung this, poor samsung that'.

It could be two things: either you are an Apple lover and felt frustratingly annoyed to see those samsung note's "gimmicks" lacking in your Iphone crap, or you are so broke you can't afford the note 3.

POOR YOU!!!

And you are such as a Samsung hater. Watch as this device outsells all its contemporaries while you cry in your mommas arms in pains. Do get a life or simply burn in hate. Samsung is king and the earlier you realise that the better for your emotions cause that ain't changing any time soon.

Samsung has its fair share of fans and haters. I think Samsung is alright in my book and will keep buying. I only avoid LG phone as they still owe me an undeliverable software update.

No lack of choices in the Android world that what I like about it. From the low end to the high end, Android rules!

Cant wait to get my hands on this beast. I am just mad that Samsung announced it 1 month before release. That's like someone telling you they got a surprise for you and not giving it to you. Now all I can think about is getting this tiny iPhone 4S out my hands. I am in love with a device I have never even touched! LOL!! Bye bye Apple, Hello Samsung!
