The Samsung Experience store in New York City has the Galaxy Nexus on display, and anybody can stop buy and check out Android Ice Cream Sandwich first hand. It is not available for purchase just yet...

First. This is why Apple has Samsung and Google beat. When they announce the newest iPhone, they give out exact details, no bsing around with "soon" and delayed release date. Then again, Apple has far more clout and such than those two do.
Funny part is that the Nexus will be forgotten or overlooked by most because of the other, flashier phones.

Exactly. And that's why Apple is the number one smartphone manufacturer in global shipments and iOS has the most market share......oh wait.

apple has such a narrow focus launching exactly one phone world wide per year.
the main reason for this confusion was that they had the GSM version ready to launch, so they went forward with the announcement. at that time, they took a guess at when they would have the cdma/lte version out. a few weeks isnt much of a delay for what is being offered.

how is it delayed if they never announced a date?
8. terabyteRouser (Posts: 457; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
It's delayed because top executives stated that it would be released in November.
10. sgogeta4 (Posts: 394; Member since: 02 Feb 2011)
There were a lot of rumors about release date but there never was an official announcement...
13. iamcc (Posts: 1319; Member since: 07 Oct 2011)
It was released in November, just not in the US. They never said "The Nexus will release on Verizon in November".
I'm waiting for this phone also, and i'm a little frustrated it hasn't come out yet.. but it definitely has not been delayed.

If you say it enough it will probably become true.
Oh wait, that's not how life works. Shucks.

For once, I partially agree with The_Miz.

Can we just drop the whole "who's better" thing. They both have their positives and obviously they both have people that back them up to the end. I love my droid x and my iPod touch but I choose android for a phone because I get bored of how still everything is in iOS.
And on a second note, the Nexus will not be forgotten or overlooked. The nexus phones are in a way separate from the whole android experience. The OS was built directly connected to that device and is untouched by anyone other than google. A completely different experience than any other android phone, rooting or not.

We really don't know which is better cause they won't even release this f**king phone! Maybe the iphone is better, maybe the droid 4 will be better, better yet maybe the old school nokia's are the best!!!!
We may never know cause verizon is a bunch of bitches!!!
All they are doing is turning people's interest away from verizon. More and more people are going to other carriers cause of this bulls**t games they always play!
If samsung has a part in this than Motorola needs to take notes!
Release the RAZR with bigger screen,battery,1.5 proc, and ICS and bye bye samsung sales!!!

Verizon has done nothing wrong here. You don't see anything from Verizon anywhere promising the release date.
I am just as frustrated as anyone else that this phone is not in my hands yet, but that is my own fault.
I'm going to repeat what the rep at the Verizon store told me when I asked if he knew when it was being released... "it's coming."
That's all we need to worry about. The Nexus is going to be a great phone when it releases on Verizon and we can all jizz our pants when it actually releases, but until then you cannot blame Verizon for doing something wrong when they have (this is probably the most annoying part) done nothing at all.

I'm sorry I have a question maybe someone can answer. Will the screen on the nexus be as wide as the RAZR? I know the RAZR is a wider phone but is that just the bezel makes it wider? But the screen width is the same.

There's the average consumer and there's an educated consumer. The average just follow trends and the educated follow quality. Its obvious why nexus is delayed by vzw they need to let the new htc and moto phones live a little. Its easy to release a phone fast that's just a gimmick updated version of a previous phone and is unique in the sense no other smartphones use that os. Nexus will be well worth the wait, good things take time, generic low quality products come and go easily. Like I been saying Dec 12 or early 2012 release date :)
17. kpfirefighter (Posts: 160; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
Will it be worth the wait? Cause they could have made this phone a hell of a lot better!
They figured that with the new ICS software they could slack on the other specs!
This phone could be a 1.5 with a 8mp camera and have a way better chip in it.
But, they don't want to build the mothership because in two months or less there will be another phone out that will make this look like a piece of s**t (BIONIC)!
This is the start of phone politics!!
16. kpfirefighter (Posts: 160; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
In earlier articles it said that it was up to verizon to launch the phone! They have the phones sitting in their warhouse waiting to be shipped to all the stores.
They have had them for at least a month!!! it not longer. So it is verizons fault cause everybody wants the phone pretty bad! and they are taking their sweet f**king time to allow the sales of the other phones to be pushed up!
I don't know why samsung didn't step in earlier and say somthing! This is not a good working relationship between these two!
And if this keeps up there will be termoil in the phone buisness and these companies and manufactores! (sorry can't spell) will go to battle with eachother and guess who will be in the middle??? us the buyers!

Seriously.. take a step away from the keyboard and go outside or something.
We can't see into Verizon's marketing strategy.. we don't know what the profits are on the phones or how they earn income. It could have very well been their strategy all along to release the Razr and Rezound and let them sell for a few weeks before releasing the Nexus.
If their sales structure and plans are dictating that they squeeze more profit from these phones prior to releasing the Nexus.. you can hardly blame them.
Really, this is just speculation.. I have NO idea.
You've also got to remember that those of us that follow these rumor-mill sites are just doing this to ourselves. Verizon has not said ANYTHING about this phone. So, if you were like 90% of the consumers out there, you'd be frolicking along happily with your Razr or Rezound purchase, with NO idea what's around the corner, and not care (much).
The fact of the matter is that you are a follower of these rumors and you only have yourself to blame for getting so pissed off.
Having said all that.. I want this phone in my hands as badly as anyone!
19. kpfirefighter (Posts: 160; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
It's not hard to guess the marketing strategy here? I'm fully aware that this is a rumor mill site.
But I have seen numerous verizon employee's at the store if fact, checking this site as much as we do!!
So you can't tell me that the higher powers in Verizon don't look at this site.
I post things in anger most of the time hoping it will lite a fire under their ass's.
Believe it or not but people world wide view this site and it makes a difference when everybody is pissed. This looks bad on them! I'm not only here to bitch and complain. I like to read about reviews and tech smart people's view's on things. The only thing i know about phones is what I learn from people like you!
So I'm not going outside cause there is about a foot of snow on the ground and I will freeze my ASS off!! But you have a good point.

Lol well said. Some people are to attached emotionally to phones. I want this phone as much as anyone else but I can wait and be patient. If it comes it comes if it doesn't I'm sure there will be something better that will come out that goes with everything in technology there's always something better around the corner.
21. kpfirefighter (Posts: 160; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
I can wait as well! But, in the mean time I love to express anger and get some people fired up! It makes for some funny response's and keeps me entertained!
Look at all my negative feedback! I'm glad I have the day off!
22. warlockz (Posts: 156; Member since: 10 Oct 2011)
Lol ur responses are entertaining. Ur itching for the phone just as I am, all in good time if not we will spend our hard earned money on another ics phone :)
23. kpfirefighter (Posts: 160; Member since: 20 Sep 2011)
You couldn't have put it any better buddy!!
24. beatsandmelody (Posts: 109; Member since: 01 Nov 2011)
I can be patient too, but it's becoming really hard because my phone is literally on it's last leg. Literally about to go kaput!
25. warlockz (Posts: 156; Member since: 10 Oct 2011)
Lol mine too. What phone your working with? I still have a droid 2 I have to admit moto built a durable phone I must have dropped it a few times from pretty high places lol the thing is still ticking.

I say fck Verizon for not releasing the phone because non of the carriers wont recieve it & we will never get a chance to buy it.

So the nexus has been pulled from the Samsung store in NYC Columbus circle. I am sad. The employees clearly know about it but have been instructed to keep shut about it.
