Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) to pack 12MP selfie camera, but modest display

It's only been a few days since we last talked about the unannounced Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017), and it looks like new info about its specs emerged online.

After making the rounds at Geekbench, which revealed the phone's hardware configuration, the Galaxy J5 (2017) has been spotted at GFXBench where a new set of partial specs are listed.

Judging by the information contained at GFXBench, Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) could be an affordable mid-range smartphone that blends low- and mid-end features. First off, we've learned the handset is likely to sport a modest 4.8-inch display with HD (720p) resolution.

We already knew the Galaxy J5 (2017) would be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, paired with a Mali-T830 graphics processing unit and 2GB RAM. Now we know the smartphone will pack 16GB expandable storage inside, as well as a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Interesting enough, Samsung might have added a similar 12-megapixel camera in the front, which suggests the smartphone will be aimed at selfie lovers. Both the rear and front camera can record full HD (1080p) videos, but only the one on the back comes with LED flash.

We have yet to learn anything about the phone's battery, but the listing confirms once again the Galaxy J5 (2017) will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat on board.
