When we first saw this story, we assumed we would be immediately filing it under the "very unlikely" heading, but it does come from a fairly reputable source. According to USA Today, the updated version of the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch that is due to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next week will be trading in Android in favor of Samsung's own Tizen...

So, they are going to "unpack" the Galaxy S5 running the latest version of Android alongside a watch that is incompatible with it. Then, they are going to try to sell Tizen Watches knowing that it will soon have to compete against the iwatch. This is similar to the "confirmed" 10 hours of battery life articles before in the Gear's first generation was released From this article, I wonder which aspect or feature is obviously not ready for a scaled down version of android? Lots of critics speak in platitudes while never naming specific complaints.

I thought that Google and Samsung got into a agreement about Samsung forgetting about tizen, and Google selling Motorola.

It wasn't really about forgetting tizen as much as it was about toning down touchwiz
