The Samsung Galaxy Beam is one of the surprises of MWC 2012 - it has decent dual-core processor and the rest, but it truly shines with its built-in projector…

I've read the projected image resolution is only 640 x360 :-(
Thats not great over say 40 inches screen projection.
oh well its great innovation though from samsung can't wait for the galaxy s3 to be announced!!!! Apple could do something like this also if they were too busy sueing and making their phone as little different from last years model as possible.

Apple is doing quite fine and most of us were aware of the speculation that Apple would release a 4s. We are also aware of the speculation that the next iPhone will be completely different, but there won't be anything too radical like a projector because that wouldn't appeal to the masses and Apple has to do what they can to maximize their profits due to the fact that they only release one phone per year. You know you're doing something right when everyone yells hatred while fattening you're pockets.

I couldn't agree more. Samsung is expanding waaay to much. So many varients.

i dont mind seeing all the variants, but i do agree that the galaxy tag on everything is just a bit redundant.

Samsung is here to innovate, hate them or love them, they set the trend and let other manufactures perfect them and use so called premium materials (as if premium materials makes your phone function better than the so called "plastic"), while they move on to another great innovation. Keep up the good work Sammy!

That is a must have phone. It will be so usefull. On other news Apple sues Samsung over galaxy Beam, they have a patent for a phone call the iprojector. Never really did it but they were gonna do it, thats why they bought the patent. Sales are banned. LMFAO

Apple is a joke of a company. Hi im apple im gonna get a patent for everyhing and never make anything but just do it so if another company makes it we get paid for it. When are the goverments gonna step in and tell apple to knock it off with all these lawsuits that they lose anyway and waiste everyones time.

How is trying to get paid off your patents any different than Motorola holding an essential patent to the cell phone industry and forcing everyone to license it from them. Motorola gets paid every time a phone is made. People only focus on Apple because they've been thrown into spotlight with what we see as crazy lawsuits and unfair labor...stuff that most of your favorite companies take part in, but no one pays attention to. I'm not supporting Apple either (just putting that out there before I receive a backlash).

Yes that projector will be used soooooo much! Yeah right! If you thought Apple had dumb gimmicks with enticing customers with Siri and FaceTime (which many people used only when they first got their phone and now rarely use), then Samsung just took the cake with this one (and yes I'm aware they didn't come up with this idea first). Many people would agree FaceTime and Siri are way more useful than a projector on your phone. People will use that projector for a week or two just to show off to their friends and then never again.

I disagree to a certain point. In a business area this is usefull. Where I work projectors has reservations because of the many training and business presentation, with this I just could go over with my boss and show her an business idea. YEah there will be people who will buy the phone just to show off, but it make more sense for a student or a business person to own this phone

How about a galaxy Beam Tablet? Bigger battery life? Great job samsung.

No NFC, so it will not support Android Beam when/if it gets updated to ICS...
I find this humorous.
