So you thought the mobile OS wars were pretty much settled in 2011 with iOS, Android and possibly Windows Phone taking the lead? Wait until you see the first images of the Samsung i9500…

Looks to much like android, it would be fine for budget devices but if they really wanna shake up the market it needs to bring something alot different

Yeah, the os looks like android, but IMO, the phone itself looks a lot like an iPhone. Anyone else see this?

it might have some potential with linux & html5..
but for now, (to me) it looks very similar to gingerbread??
if there is to be another big contender to current mobile OS battle, I would like to try something drastically different. that is why i was interested in android when rumors started going around.

But if I'm not mistaken, Android is based from Linux, the same OS this one comes from, kernel-wise.. so we can be somewhat assured that we will have almost the same features.. but still, too early to tell.

The OS interface looks like a cross between Meego, Android, and Windows Phone.
I would rather have Tizen since it is open source.
Android is s**t because your privacy is invaded by any app you install. Proof: Install permissions Denied Android App, you will see that many apps need to see your contacts, as well as other private information, in order to install or use the app (ie. Angry Birds. Why does Angry Birds need to know who is in my contact list?!). This is the downfall of Android. Google is out for you to click on their ads so they can make $ with their software on billions of devices. There is nothing wrong with making $, but you cant opt out from them invading your personal data from your device!
I own a Nokia N900 and love the phone (which is open source & debian based). I also have a Samsung Galaxy Note (with debian GNU Linux chroot installed on it), but still prefer my N900 (mainly because of the physical keyboard, and other features). Not many people are aware of the malware that Google uses in its android OS to gather your information to "better service you".
Android is not open source nor a pure Linux environment, it is a Linux kernel with Java slapped on top, and malware accessing your private info.
I want my GNU tools with an Open Source Linux OS in a phone that allows me to control what I find useful, not what is shoved down my throat by android market.
The main reason for the shift to Tizen is because of Androids infringement to Apple Products (iPhony) Lawsuits are being sent to any manufacturer who infringes upon Apples software technology, according to the lawyers and judges (swayed & paid). Tizen is the way out since it is open source and the licensing falls under different terms than proprietary software, and is just as powerful since it is UNIX based! Just like iOS & Windows is (proprietary), but the only difference with Open Source is the user & community controls what the OS evolves to, not the greedy corporation!
Stop Trolling, and learn to be free with Open Source Technology! :-)
Install a Linux Distribution on your computer (mac or windows) and learn about free and open source software, and stop being tugged like a puppet on what you need to buy from the conglomerate corporations who got you by the balls with their shiny bells & whistles.
