Samsung GALAXY Tab with dual-core 2GHz processor rumored for MWC
Share:
Earlier today we passed along the word that Samsung was weighing its options when it comes to announcing the Samsung Galaxy S III at the MWC in Barcelona next month. While no one knows if the smartphone will be presented at the show, how about Samsung's new high-end tablet? Android and Me is saying that at a closed door media event at CES earlier this month, they had a chance to play with a device that just might be a Samsung GALAXY Tab 11.6 with a dual-core 2GHz processor under the hood. The tablet allegedly is powered by the Exynos 5250 processor that is built on ARM’s latest Cortex-A15 architecture, which includes the next-gen Mali-T406 GPU.
With rumors flying that Samsung will be offering a GALAXY Tab model with an 11.6 inch display, Android and Me is calling for the Korean based tech giant to introduce a tablet with a larger than 10 inch screen at MWC. The thought here is if Samsung won't be displaying its show stopping new smartphone at the show, perhaps it will take the wraps off of its new high-end tablet. And if it was the Samsung GALAXY Tab 11.6 that was the center of attention at that closed door event in Las Vegas, the manufacturer already has the device ready for show with enough pre-production Exynos 5250s to plug inside a few model units.
Besides the high powered Exynos 5250 on board the tablet, with supposedly 5 times the graphics performance of earlier Exynos processors, Samsung could also beat Apple to the punch by displaying a tablet with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 (WXQGA), which is the high-end of expected resolutions on the Apple iPad 3. This alone could give the Korean manufacturer incentive to show off the tablet at MWC, After all, would Samsung pass on a chance to sam-sung Apple in public?

My first tablet if this is true... well, possibly. I'm still holding out to see what a Win 8 may hold.

dAMNIT........THIS IS LIKE UNICRON compared to my Prime......sighs......its ok its the law of tech

i doubt the clock speed on the tablet is accurate, though i would just fall over if it was. On the off chance that the tablet is real, that would at least give a reason why they would want to hold off on the SGS3 announcement so that way people arent spliting massive coverage on multiple high end devices.

not to mention that the showroom floor probably isn't padded enough for the multitude of fainting attendees...

Wait "Samsung GALAXY Tab 11.6 with a 2GHz processor under the hood"
is it single-core?

Samsung is really stupid if they are going to release a tablet that's not as strong as the Quadcore rumored GS3(If its quadcore).
11. KingKurogiii posted on 28 Jan 2012, 01:29 2
it doesn't necessarily have to be Quad-Core to be the best but it sure does help. (:
16. RamyRamz69 posted on 28 Jan 2012, 08:28 1
No it actually does. If you forgot, the Transformer has a Quadcore processor. (:
17. kamejoko posted on 28 Jan 2012, 09:41 2
Dual-core A15 is stronger than quadcore A9.

yeah, Tegra III is the best right now and yeah, it's Quad-Core but like kamejoko pointed out to you it's very much possible for a more advanced Dual-Core to surpass a Quad-Core made with older technology in comparison.

I'll pass...waiting for win8 tablets...though...appreciate work done by samsung.

omg if samsung throws such tablet in ipad 3's face - apple will be humiliated.
24. KingKurogiii posted on 28 Jan 2012, 14:09 0
we shouldn't laugh so loud just yet. anything that can surpass Apple's A5 will be a force to be reckoned with and we don't know anything yet.

agreed and the A6 no doubt is set to be the processor to beat

Only bad thing with this bad boy is that it uses RG BW PenTile matrice LCD screen, I mean comeon samsung, you're the second biggest screen manufacturer after LG displays, and u can't make regular LCD with 250+ ppi...shame on you...It's a sad thing that LG doesn't put more effort in their mobile devices I bet they would make a killer tablet, with regular RGB screen with over 300 ppi, toshiba made 500ppi display with regular RGB...you can do better sammy
20. Guest_star posted on 28 Jan 2012, 11:34 0
just need to add this one thing: PenTile is worst than regular RGB because it has 2/3 number of subpixels of regular RGB so the picture isn't as sharp is it should for the given pixel density and the colors aren't rendered that well, that is why I said all this...

i just don't get you "Display Nerds" the display is only the means for your mind to interpret what you're doing on your phone, tablet, television or what have you through your eyes. when you fill up your heads with all this junk about how or why a display looks the way it does and all you see is the dpi and subpixel arrangements then you kind of cheat yourself out of letting the display show you whether you actually really like to look at it or not. what i'm saying is that when it comes to displays what's going on in your head is the biggest factor of all but when it comes to things like SoCs then that's all to do with the device itself.

If I'm going to give bags of money on something I want it to be perfect in every way, that includes display too, to me display is the most important part of the phone/tablet, that's the first thing you see, and everything you do you do it through display so you need it to be as best as possible, you're not going to do any programing on your phone/tablet or anything else except watching pics, videos, play games and browse the web so yes the display is the most important thing, but to be able to use that display properly you need strong CPU and GPU, that's my opinion anyway, you don't have to agree with me

i'm just saying in this aspect of technology look with your eyes not with your brain.
30. Guest_star posted on 28 Jan 2012, 18:00 0
well in this case the disadvantages of the PenTile are visible, they are visible even in SuperAMOLED HD of galaxy nexus, that's why I sad all things above
31. KingKurogiii posted on 28 Jan 2012, 18:14 0
i've seen Galaxy Nexuses, it looks fine to me.
you're probably looking for the disadvantages of Pentile.
33. Guest_star posted on 28 Jan 2012, 19:21 0
MB but I just don't like when something is done faulty just so they can brag with numbers like high deff and they don't do it perfectly...btw compare galaxy nexus to lg optimus lte(nitro HD or Verizon's version, can't remember the name and you will see what I'm talking about) just look closely on the edges of rounded icons and stuff...i just cant stand that small faults...that's why I'm studying electrical engineering so I can make thing's the way they are meant to be :D
34. KingKurogiii posted on 28 Jan 2012, 19:35 0
i'm more lax about detail and sharpness with most modern day smartphone displays. Colors on the other hand are what will meet my critical eyes. oh wow, you're pretty serious huh? well go for it guy.
35. Guest_star posted on 28 Jan 2012, 19:41 1
Yes I am :D. Considering the colors, I like natural colors of IPS-LCD's more than oversaturated ones on OLED's but OLED's do look sweet I'll give them that and I'll probably get some OLED screen phone next because that is the future imo(just have to wait for LG to make one xD, I love LG much more than Sammy, don't know why), I just have to wait for some good RGB ones with high ppi :D. Anyhow, it was nice chating with you, have a good day good sir :))))

The PPI on this screen, isn't going be a amazing. Plus the most likely super amoled plus display. OVERKILL! FEINTS.
21. Guest_star posted on 28 Jan 2012, 11:37 1
LOL SuperAMOLED plus of this size, not going to happen soon, it is possible but the tablet would cost a kidney and an eye...
23. Carlitos posted on 28 Jan 2012, 13:55 0
Lol dam. But still that's allot of pixels. And hopefully its a quadcore. It all seems like a big dream.
