not even close...the pro is actually a high end smartphone plus the screen is still pretty large and aimed at business men and women, this phone is clearly aimed at teens and new android users looking for a qwerty keyboard and pocketable size. if anything its a copy of the flip out or the charm....which i think did pretty well....good enough for moto to make two anyways.....just because you need/want a high end/ super powerful phone doesnt mean everyone else does. this just isnt aimed for your target market...dont dis it! Although I would not buy it either...im getting a thunderbolt.

Midrange, not a great looking device. Who are they marketing this to? Android fans will want the Droid Pro, professionals will still want a new Blackberry, which will be releasing new phones in the next 3 quarters. Strange decision from Samsung.

its probably headed towards teens and people who are new to android, dont need an android but still want one, someone that wants email and facebook and just to search the web or a few youtube vids. I think it will do well like the motorola flip out and the moto charm, it worked well enough for them to make two...

If aimed at teens and first time buyers, a catchy name would be it's hook. Galaxy Pro puts it square in the thought process of professionals, not first time buyers. Be interesting to see what it is packaged as when it is released here. If you are right, it will be a fun, simple packaged phone at a low price.

This phone is clearly a result of Samsung and Google's approach to the cellular industry; put out a large number of different devices on the market with varying form factors and hardware specifications, or essentially, make enough different devices to appeal to every potential market sector. Low screen and camera resolution? An effort to keep costs down; few people would pay $149-$199 on contract for this phone regardless of how sharp the screen is or how good its camera is. I personally don't find the phone compelling, but there are undoubtedly people who will find it an attractive buy. Samsung and Google do a great job with their strategy. They may only sell 5,000 or these, but they won't make more than 5,000 either. If you make 100 different devices and sell out each one, regardless of low numbers in the face of competition, your coming out ahead on the bottom line. If this thing is released for $49 or less on contract, they'll sell.
