Yep this device is looking VERY sexy. I just need to see this rumored HTC 5" phablet so I can make a decision.

All I know is that I'm out of Kleenex at this point.

the feature demo is really cool. I could see myself using a lot of that regularly.
Im still turned off by the gargantuan size though... I'll have to play with it extensively before making a decision.
What's intriguing to me is that they say its "LTE" but they make no mention of chip switching for the US version.. hopefully they really are not just forgetting to mention that part and are bringing Exynos to the US finally.

I think your dream of an Exynos that works with U.S. LTE towers is about to be realized.
From what I am making of all these rumors the Samsung Galaxy Note II will have the 1.6GHz Exynos 4 & will play nice with LTE here in the good old U.S. of A.
44. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
that gives me a lil happy tent. :)
What would make me even happier is if they got one of those SGS2+ devices in the US with exynos and the newer HD screens. A 4.3-4.5 inch SGS2+ / SGS3 would be fantastic.
Crap I was just on Ebay looking at SGS2 international devices. Not gonna actually throw money down on international until i know for sure that Tmo has 1900 3g/4g up and running around here.

just wanted to mention, that until we have confirmation of US exynos quad, I'm going to assume the traditional chip switch out. Thankfully, if the rumors of quad persist, that means it should be the S4 quad Pro if not the exynos.. which is an acceptable trade instead of the normal horrid crapdragon power downsizing that the SGS2 and SGS3 got.
87. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7824; Member since: 14 May 2012)
But the T-Mobile version is said to be equipped with quad Exynos remix.
95. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
that is all rumor at this point with zero substantiation. the rumor is that it remains "quadcore with LTE". nothing has ever pointed to one chip or another. I'd love for it to be Exynos, but I'm just assuming its the traditional Qualcomm chip switch until we hear something official from samsung.. At least the Krait quad pro is a decent chip. it runs the same if not slightly better in the GPU aspect anyways. Still not as strong in CPU though.

Actually, the Sprint SGS2 got to keep the dual core Exynos processor and the big 4.5" display. Seriously though, can you please stop it with the crapdragon stuff, we all know you're a Samsung fanboy and that the Snapdragon processors aren't crap, it's just getting really old, you say it on every spec post.
129. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
yea sorry but you are who?
we know who I am.
The AT&T got the exynos as well.. what is your point? Neither were "big sellers". The Skyrocket came out shortly after with LTE and made the SGS2 irrelevant the the traditional buyer that has no idea of the benefits of a stronger processor.. and no on cares about Sprint.. sorry.. its true. Besides, they got the i4s shortly after which hurt all sprint phone sales.
You dont have a fact. You have an opinion. Your opinion is baseless and stupid. Period. Whatever opinion I espouse is backed up by fact verified by multiple sources.

Same here. HTC needs to deliver on this. Once people go to a larger screen they usually won't turn back. *from my own experience*.
124. lsutigers (Posts: 713; Member since: 08 Mar 2009)
The HTC phablet may be a better choice, if the screen comes in between 5" - 5.5" it will be for many. As much as I like the Note II, it looks way too big. I guess I will have to reserve my final judgment until I see it @ the store but even with large hands, I just don't see myself getting used to it.

Id assume that you have Verizon SO your decision may have to depend on actually looking at the device. I dont know how Verizon operates because I have AT&T, but i think that the concept on choosing the right phone remains the same
I dont like HTC anymore so im biased towards Samsung, but i think that both phones will do you justice
10. shnibz (Posts: 154; Member since: 18 Sep 2011)
Too big for me. I really can't imagine people carrying around such a giant phone. My Gnex us borderline to big
77. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7824; Member since: 14 May 2012)
It's the same size as the OG Note. This may seem to shock you a bit, but the Note can fit into pockets.
127. shnibz (Posts: 154; Member since: 18 Sep 2011)
OG note seems ridiculous in person to me as well. not saying it isn't a great phone, I just can't imagine talking on it or carrying it all the time. I'm just a bit surprised at how popular the Notes are is all.
128. shnibz (Posts: 154; Member since: 18 Sep 2011)
Especially people that are smaller. I'm 6'0 but my wife is 5'4 that thing would look like a Nexus 7 in her hands!
130. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
My wife is 5'1 and she loves her n7. Its no quite "that big"... but yea.. its pretty darn big.
139. Ric1511 (Posts: 26; Member since: 28 Dec 2011)
I'm 6'1" and wife is 5'3", she has seen the note and says it's too big for her. Perfect for me though! I agree it looks silly talking on it, but I use hands free headsets most of the time. I'm definetely getting either the Note 2 or the HTC Phablet.

Doesnt this phone looks to you a little bit (just a little) like the galaxy s3?

13. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 3006; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
Nothing exquisitely profound here...a blown up SGS3. With some feature tweaks...
18. YaIphoneiscool (Posts: 27; Member since: 29 Aug 2012)
Ya i will just get the iphone5 way better!
23. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
did you watch the video? its actually quite a few extra features using the pen.
And it also has double the ram of the international SGS3 as well as an RGB screen instead of pentile.
The original Note was an SGS2++, this is an SGS3++. Is there anything wrong with that? The i4s is an i4+ (not even a ++ lol). Options are a good thing.
31. infinitemethod (Posts: 123; Member since: 04 Sep 2012)
Really? Android 4.1, quad-core, LTE, 2GB ram, expandable storage, 5.5" HD display? I guess an iPad is a blown up iPhone. But no feature tweaks......
15. SamsungFan (Posts: 201; Member since: 16 Apr 2012)
Not just s3. With more power, better screen, improved s pen and a lot more any way it's better than others in it's class
29. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 3006; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
@SamsungFan...In its class? Which class are you talking about?? Don't tell me you're comparing the 1st Note and Note II! Cause the only class they have right now are those two!! HTC's phablet isn't here so that's not valid...
81. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7824; Member since: 14 May 2012)
I'm guessing you forgot about the LG Vu, correct?
134. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 3006; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
A 3-incher???? In this class??? Really???
135. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 3006; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
I believe you forgot to mention Optimus!
Has anyone mentioned Vu after its release???
No...it's forgotten!! Lost in the battle....

So it has better screen than the s3 and more power too,i see.the things samsung does in less than 2 month smh im sure in a test the s3 will have nothing to envy this note. Its just a bigger screen with a different name. Yea name the hardware inside differently too and tell people it has more power but really?tell that to the s3 owners im sure they will be thrill to know their s3 is already an old phone with less power than this note and already loosing its market value. And of course apple is evil who fools the people with 1 phone and 1 tablet 1s a year.yet samsung does it every month. A month or so after this will be 5.8" screen and then again"better screen, more power, improved s pen,and better than any other.coming next month "take my money all over again".
82. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7824; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Give me a break. Apple released the iP4S that was a year behind Android. And to be honest, if I have the money after I buy my customized HP Envy 6t, I will definitely upgrade to the Note II.

Galaxy s3 owner "will definitely upgrade to the note 2".congrats you're the winner.
36. iphoneisthebest79 (Posts: 68; Member since: 23 May 2012)
why do we need a pen if we have a big screen, what's the point of that if you can do it with your finger.
if i had a samsung s3 i wouldn't change it to samsung note 2.
115. SleepingOz (unregistered)
Never knew iSheeep wrote with their fingers. Nice to know.. =]

you have to update your self, where are you from Afghanistan.
some people need to shut thier mouth or say something valuble
46. good2great (Posts: 1039; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
i agree with some of the people in here...
its nothing more than an extra large SGIII
with a pen and better hardware and a few exclusive features
i dont think its a BAD thing... the SGIII is doing an awesome job with sales everyone likes it... why change up the design? i feel they should stick with this design for awhile "it works"
same thing with the iphone... who cares that it doesn't look different than the iphone 4/4s? dont change the design if there's no need for it... just add some exclusive features and keep the OS fresh... it'll continue to sale millions...
64. hosker (unregistered)
True, but this exactly why I cant understand the hate for the iphone 4/s if samsung keeps its design just makes it bigger and bigger all the time, why cant apple do the same if they are also successful with the iphone? Is like fandroids want apple to change everything all over again...maybe deep down they do feel samsung is only copying apple. And btw im not a fan of anything, i like android but i will like it to be more stable like ios and for its phones to not loose value, but i guess thats impossible when a new phone is release evey 1-2 month.
P.s. maybe "better"hardware but probably because a bigger screen Needs more power.
79. remixfa (Posts: 13903; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
apple releases 1 phone a year and gives you 1 choice.
The Note is for a business power class of user. Its not simply just an SGS3, there are some major advancements in software and hardware that you are completely glaring over in order to call it a large SGS3. The i5 is going to be nothing more than an enlarged i4s with a slightly more powerful GPU/CPU and LTE.
The Note has a completely different software set with many advanced features, a new NON pentile RGB HD screen that is bigger while the phone itself is smaller, double the memory of the international SGS3, a redesigned pen, a massive battery beyond what anyone but the Razr Maxx uses, and all sorts of crap. It is much more than simply being a "large SGS3". Just because it keeps similar outside design cues for parity with other Samsung devices, does not mean that its the same device.
Is a ford car and a ford truck the same simply because they keep similar manufacturer design cues? No.. neither are the SGS3 and Note2. geesh.
104. hosker (unregistered)
Im sure you can use s3 for business purposes too.If you want softwares thats what the play and app store are for. It needs the massive battery and power for that huge screen, in the end it will have about the same battery life as the s3 and same performance.
A car and a truck have VERY different design and purposes. The s3 and this note= same thing, maybe the note software has leather sits and the s3 doesnt, thats about it.
107. good2great (Posts: 1039; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
i agree with everything you said remixfa...
design wise it looks like a bigger SGIII sir...
thats not a negative statement... it makes since... as a business you want to make sure people continue to be familiar with your products... its all psychological... most people won't grab something totally different than what they're used to. They would think about it first pros/cons...
but i dont think samsung wants to take that risk again... you dont want your customers to think... just buy... that's why they're #1 right now... i got a feeling the rest of their phones will have this similar build... everybody will be cheering samsung in another year... iFans will be only a few million...
105. infinitemethod (Posts: 123; Member since: 04 Sep 2012)
The iPad is a bigger iPhone. At least Samsung added some stuff to the Note II.
109. good2great (Posts: 1039; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
thats my point...
the ipad is a big iphone... of course there are software differences that distinguish the two...
same with the note II and sgIII
stop trying to defend it...lol
what i'm saying is its a GOOD thing...lol people are very familiar with the sgIII so it'll be much smoother for them to gain note II buyers... its genius (apple's been playing this same game for years)
62. shamatuu (Posts: 125; Member since: 02 Nov 2011)
Really good phone. Can't wait for it on the US carriers. It is my next phone unless HTC wows me than it will be a very hard choice.
