Samsung GALAXY Nexus not Apple-proof as Cupertino firm sues Samsung over 4 "high-power" patents

0. phoneArena posted on 11 Feb 2012, 12:30

Despite Samsung's insistance that the pure Android Samsung GALAXY Nexus was designed to escapte the litigious reach of Apple's lawyers, the Cupertino based firm has sued Samsung claiming that the latter has infringed upon four "high-power" patents...

As stated by Steve Job, Apple dosn't sue for money but to cease/destroy Android.
Think big and stay optimist.

Just wait until Apple starts suing forum posters for using the Apple image as their avatar.

LOL, i need to watch out. I could soon be sued for using iPhone as my avatar, if that doesnt work, I could even be sued for owning an iPhone. OMG

I am certainly sick of this. All this does is make the entire industry become less innovative. I am someone even as a business owner I do not like patents as many have been given out to protect things that should have no business being protected. This is a ridiculous system we have.

So I can't search, unlock, or "click" screen buttons with my phone. So one tell me how apple received patents on these things again? I mean give me a break, this is stuff that Winmo did years before apple knew what a mobile phone was.

They're just enjoying their sweet time cause they know one day the truth will be revealed to their loyal "iFans"

78. frydaexiii posted on 13 Feb 2012, 07:11

Meh, if the iPhone4S slap to the face didn't wake the iFans up, I doubt anything else will...I bet even an iBrick would be a top seller...

Also the fruit vendor here downstairs will try his luck by suing Apple, as the judges have missed their path to cleverness.

If apple keeps wasting their time and money on these things ...One day they r gona go totally bankrupt :P

Apple can't compete with Android Samsung should stop manufacturing apple's A5 Processors. That should make things even.

46. 14545 posted on 11 Feb 2012, 16:49 2

I've actually wondered why Samsung hasn't fired back by making apple try and source their processors from somewhere else. I understand them, obviously, not wanting to lose the business. But when you're talking about a company that obviously wants to try and pull your products off the market, then it's a move of self preservation.

Im a huge fan of both Apple and Samsung. here Samsung is doing business, out of all these iPhone that r bn sold, Samsung is cashing in, plus there is Samsung and Samsung Mobile. If Samsung pulls of, someone will step in, which means more money for Samsung. Unlike Apple, Samsung knows business.

"unlocking a device by performing gestures on an unlock image"
So any smartphone that uses an unlock system where you perform some kind of gesture is infringing on Apples patents?
These patents are so vague it's ridiculous...

"universal interface for retrieval of information in a computer system," or in other words, this patent protects some of the process involved in unified search and the technology used for Siri.
Yes, because Siri was the first software in any computer system that provided unified search...
Android had that LONG before Siri was bought by Apple.

"method, system, and graphical user interface for providing word recommendations,"
Really, they're suing because of word-correction...
First of all, iOS is obviously far from being the first word-correction system.
Second, it doesn't even look kinda similar to Androids word-correction.

This is one of the reasons I despise Apple, they sue over the most minute, insignificant things to try and keep their competition down.

Slide to unlock...

Wow...I guess that means we should see more lawsuits for powering on n off devices.

More lawsuits for opening/closing windows on cars.

More lawsuits for turning volume up n down.

I'm sorry....but Apple is utterly ridiculous for slide to unlock claims against the G Nex...

Have anyone at Apple even used a G Nex??? You can swipe the icon 360 degrees. The fact that is only has icons left and right shouldn't mean squat. Its not on a straight track.

Look at the ICS leaks for the RAZR: 4 holes in a somewhat clover leaf pattern. If thats what it comes down to to make Apple happy....they can kick rocks...

And lets not forget that Neonode was using that type of slide to unlock waaaay before Apple. Unless Apple bought Neonode...they can kick rocks...

And another thing...its not like that is the ONLY way to unlock the G Nex. You can use a pin or pattern lock. Face Unlock....Thank goodness Google filed a patent for the pattern lock.

dear apple,

thank you for suing.. let's see how the real brains in the tech industry will work around all those patent BS you threw.. and thank you for really squeezing out the creativity juices of your competitors so that their products will be light years ahead of yours! thank you once again for being a total pain in the backside.. my trash bin really appreciates your products and my a$$ is so jealous of the amount of sh%$ that comes out from your company..

sincerely,
a happy end-customer

79. frydaexiii posted on 13 Feb 2012, 07:13 1

Am I the only one who thinks Google should shut down all services including Youtube for all Apple devices and Samsung should stop producing chips for Apple? That would kill Apple in like a day...
