Despite Samsung's insistance that the pure Android Samsung GALAXY Nexus was designed to escapte the litigious reach of Apple's lawyers, the Cupertino based firm has sued Samsung claiming that the latter has infringed upon four "high-power" patents...

how can u say apple when they have a patent that presides over "unlocking a device by performing gestures on an unlock image"? u expect anyone to sit around with such a patent? i think samsung, htc, moto, anyone wud use that too its full extent… in my opinion this is more the patent offices fault for loading apple with these patents…

You are wrong dear. First to implement this system was Neonode a Swedish phone manufacturer same year (2005) Apple file the patent application.

not at all… but if someone gives u all the tools too, says its okay, legally allows u too, and it makes u much richer, what would u do?
apple should not be given every tool it needs to do stuff like this… but honestly i dont blame them, companies are out there to make money… i have no doubt moto, microsoft, or htc would do the same if they had such patents.. and they are with what they have

Ifan drones keep wondering why theirs so much 'hating' of apple. The childish controlling nature of apple in this article is the exact reason why.

They can't fight with their phones.... why? because its all crap!!!.... Google is still waiting on their notification bar patent approval and once that happens.... I'm sure apple WILL be getting sued for iOS5 and its notification bar.... and I'm pretty sure that Apple will also be getting sued for using a face to unlock your phone.... apple has had its 15 years of fame.... all they are doing is producing garbage.... and let me tell you... the garbage stinks, and all they do is rip off other people to implement on their devices....!!!!!

Just because a patent is awarded, doesn't mean it is not invalid. Attorneys are going to make out like bandits on the patent litigation.
