The Samsung Fascinate will be available for pre-order at Best Buy starting Aug. 29. Those who are members of the Best Buy Reward Zone, meanwhile, can reserve the new Verizon smartphone on Aug. 27. Pre-orders will be accepted at Best Buy stores and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores. Pricing and launch date information have not yet been released. The Android-based phone includes a 4-inch, 854-by-480 Super AMOLED touchscreen. It will include a 1-GHz processor running the Android 2.1 operating system. The Fascinate's software is a mix of Samsung, Google, and Verizon contributions. The home screen features Bing and Bing Maps, and the Fascinate will come with a Blockbuster app.

Weird....it comes preloaded with BING??? I am sure most VERIZONers will switch to google....Blockbuster app is no biggie - it is all about what the phone can do and this phone can do mucho...

I'm thinking about selling my X on ebay and getting the Fascinate.

Should be another awesome GALAXY S phone....let's hope the shortage plaguing most VERIZON smartphones does not infect this one, too....

Don't think it will be a prob with inventory. Samsung has unfortunately left a bad taste in the mouth of a lot of VZW customers so most will be skeptical about the device. Glad to see that Verizon has more than one relevent phone that is high end. Take note At&t...this is how its done.
