FIRST!!!!This phone is pretty good, but the droid 3 is clearly better. You cannot deny a good keyboard and come preloaded with motoblur. I am sticking with this winner. Sorry, Samsung.

the Droid 3 is what i went with and it's a good choice. the keyboard is a justifiable trade off for the power of the Galaxy S II because i'm 18, i'm a texter and that keyboard is pretty dreamy and really the Galaxy S II and the Droid Bionic are the only phones it comes second to in terms of power so far that we know enough about and it should also get ICS pretty quickly too. oh and if you're into hacking and all that you should root it, remove a bunch of the bloatware and put the V6 SuperCharger kernel on it because it does make a real big difference in it's every day performance. before i had to occasionally use a task killer because of the little amount of RAM it has but now with V6 SuperCharger i don't use the task killer anymore and it runs like 95% smoothly 100% of the time i use it. (:

"it should get ICS pretty quickly" sure just like the first generation of galaxies got gingerbread, good luck with that one, I can hear the whining like "where's ICS for my galaxy?"

I was waiting for this phone but I got the photon 4g and this phone is fast also samsung phones are great on paper but inreal life the samsung don't deliver also the take forever to upgrade their software so you'll probably be stuck on gingerbread for a long time since google bought Motorola so most high end motos will probably get the new updates first.hopefull
6. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3042; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
dude I can bet you every phone without ice cream sandwich is going to take a long time to upgrade to it. Not to mention this phone is much faster than the photon in every way.

probably not the Droid Bionic and the Droid 3 though because 1. they're Motorola, Google's new bffls. 2. they have OMAP4 processors which are supported by ICS right out of the gate. (:
18. Burnab87 (unregistered)
um encase you havent read anything lately, Google will not treat Motorola special with that "yet to be approved" acquisition, and with Samsung being the largest Android maker now i doubt ice cream will get to motorola any faster than Samsung...... Oh n i forget samsun is making the nexus 3 which means THEY ALREADY HAVE ICS DUH!

don't hate because Google didn't buy Samsung. ;P oh you mean like Samsung made the Nexus S and their flagship devices on the U.S. carriers still have Froyo? yeah, they made all that extra time with the SDK count besides i don't think Google lets Nexus makers take home the SDK for their own devices before it's official release.
oh and i noticed you didn't make a point against what i said about the OMAP support so my point that the Droid 3 and the Droid Bionic getting ICS was still quite valid even if those things you told me are true.

Too damn big...won't fit in pockets. Awkward... They should have stuck with the 4.3" . Sprint can never get it right. First they change the dimensions of HTC EVO 3D to make it narrower and taller, but then the fatten the hell out of the epic 4g touch. They clearly, need direction on their products from someone who is tapped into what SPRINT customers want and need. Sorry for the rant...irritated and disappointed. Been waiting for a decent phone since feb.

I like the 4.5 inch, but I don't know is its how this guy was using it or something... but the transition of screen to screen almost show a slight lag.

Pshh Feb. ive been waiting for a decent phone since 2009. I've had my HTC Vogue since 2007 its still kicking. But I've been dying for a new phone. I really like the Epic Touch 4g but its too big. But I'll have to go see it in person before my final judgement. But i rather have all those specs sans the 4.52 inch on an HTC device.

u realize sprint does not make the phone right? they only purchase devices that are already made by the manufacturer that are capable of running on the network

he said "smooth for the most part" so I wonder which part is not
12. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3042; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
i doubt anything lags on this device. I think it was just poor choice of words. He went on to say how fast and smooth the att version was.
16. PeterIfromsweden (Posts: 1230; Member since: 03 Aug 2011)
I have tried the galaxy S2 here in europe in the shops.
I can tell you that, it is the fastest and smoothest Android phone i have tried, but still it lags...
don't know why, i've closed all the applications that was running, but still it was not nearly as smooth as my bada phones.
So to be sure it was not just the particular phone at the shop that was laggy, i went to another shop that had the galaxy S2, closed all the apps, and checked it out. Still, he fastest and smoothest Android, but not nearly as fast and as smooth as my bada phones.
Probably has do to with Android. Since android was developed back in 2005, it is not as modern as bada, and therefore bada runs much faster. that is my guess.
17. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
Android 2.3 Gingerbread was developed in 2010. Android is still quite modern. xD
20. PeterIfromsweden (Posts: 1230; Member since: 03 Aug 2011)
i know, but it is still based on the old Android from 2005.
25. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
when you look at it like that isn't bada kinda old?

Peter,Peter...Stop!.. Samsung said they will bring you Bada-3..so please stop...hahahahaha

Sprint has the best linup of android devices. You strike me as one of those types that complains about everything. nexus s, evo 3d, photon, gs2. Yea no decent phones since feb for sprint. How about you check out verizons lineup instead?
15. Thump3rDX17 (Posts: 2160; Member since: 10 May 2010)
tell somebody that in a week when we have our LTE, OMAP4430 packing Droid Bionic sweetie or maybe you should wait for the Vigor a few weeks after that. ;)
19. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3042; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
the sprint version is obviously the favorite here. Getting the larger screen and much larger battery with a respectable price tag of 200 and its coming out first. Not to mention sprint still offers unlimited data and the fact that they allow you to remove most bloatware from the start. So kudos to sprint for really stepping it up. I really hope the droid prime is real and it does come out I'm October but I also fear if they are just rushing it to compete with the next iphone. Honeycomb was rushed and we all saw the end result of that. I have to be honest and say I'd rather be stuck with gingerbread with the epic 4g touch than a buggy glitchy unfinished ice cream sandwich device. So please take your time and make it right.
