The Samsung Brightside is bound to land on Verizon shelves no later than March 1, as indicated by the devices equipment guide. It is a feature phone with a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera...

A lot fo people probally will love this. Have you seen the feature phones verizon has now they are all garbage. whatever happened to sharp looking and good quality feature phone like a gleam or the old metallic lg. people loved these phones with high camera and flash with nice size screen. Now there all cheap plastic that doesnt do a thing.

Yes, it's a feature phone. But that's needed! There are still people who don't need, don't want, or can't afford smartphones! Especially in the teenage range, feature phones are still flourishing. Right now though, ALL the carrier's feature phone selections are seriously lacking.
That said I'M NEVER GOING BACK TO A FEATURE PHONE!!

I hope that they don't plan to charge a whole lot for this on contract, I'd say that about $25 on contract wouldn't be too bad. That, or have it be a pre-paid phone.

....aaand, VZW customers sigh with disappointment again. If the Galaxy S2 Plus doesn't go to Big Red, I'm punching someone in the face on my way out the door.

And the Galaxy SII will not come to VZW. The Galaxy Nexus filled that area man..

I appreciate it when a feature phone comes our way. Customers dont always look for the next super power crazy phone. And some moms and dads want their kids to have a phone without paying for a data package. So our basic phones and Feature phones arent going anywhere anytime soon. Which is awesome.
The one thing i am a bit annoyed with is this is the Samsung Reality. which was released a while ago. Then they discontinued it. Came out with the Samsung u-370. Which was the Reality but with a different name and added software. but it was basically the same phone. And now comes this. Which, again, is the Original Reality with some added software and the front button layout has been changed a bit. haha lazy Samsung.
Anywho. We need these phones as much as we need our next smartphones. they give customers a good medium when choosing a new device.

I wouldnt mind seeing some decent feature phones. Probably the best one we have here at sprint for instance is the Rumor Touch, and that came out 2 years ago as of next month. All the feature phones sprint has released since have been pretty terrible in either specs, build quality, or both.

I agree with you man. Over here our best selling one is the LG Octane. its simular to the LG EnV 3. and for people wanting an all touch screen device they go with the Pantech HotShot. they are both great phones. but we do need some more feature phones. I miss the days of the LG Voyager's and whatnot.

I guess I agree for the most part with the above comments, but the reason I am happy is because its a new item. I had and LOVED my EnV3 probably one of the best phones I had, but gone. I tried to get an Octane, but about a month before my contract was up, gone, couldnt get one. It came back for a couple weeks on the Verizon website, but my local wasnt able to get any. Im using a flip from a friend after my Env died. I guess a qwerty board and simple operations just make the most sense to me.

If you got to staples some might still have them. I am a mobile consultant at one in NJ and we still have them till they are gone

i know my staples location still has the octane for 1 cent if you still want it. it will be at the west long branch, nj location until march 1st. so if you come ASAP, you will be in luck ! :)
