who wants to bet that since Sprint decided they will support WP8 in the first half of next year that they will be the ones to debut the ativ S here?

No one interested in your bet. L920 is the iconic device and others will just lie down in the shadows.

I have had Samsung AMOLED screens. I now have the Nokia 920. The screen on the Nokia is the best I've ever used in bright sunlight. It is easy to see. I can't say the same for my Galaxy Note. As far as the weight, it doesn't weigh any more than an iPhone in a case and most people I see with iPhones have cases on them. The weight issue is WAY overblown.

Goodness me stop lying, that phone weighs a tonne, its way heavier than iphone with a case, its very thick again dont know for what reason, very old fashioned. Galaxy note 2 screen is way better, just go and compare in the shops, LCD is an old technology and amoled is way ahead plus is the future, deep black brilliant contrast, and dnie colour modes. That Nokia will be bulging in your pockets, will be hilarious on the streets

Screen is a matter of individual taste. Like for me the oversaturated AMOLEDs are inferior to the pleasant LCDs. Also they consume less energy than the AMOLEDs, while displaying whites. You have to admit, white is the most dominant while browsing.

Again you're whining about the weight and only you stating that iPhone + case < Lumia doesn't make difference. Lot of reviewers have admitted the fact. Think of Lumia as a phone + sturdy case molded together.

lmao, LCD and AMOLED techs go in parallel. AMOLEDs won't ever kill LCDs. Even iPhone 5 uses LCD. Don't be so ignorant, go study and then comment instead of being biased fanboy.

Yeah right AMOLED is the future mate, LCD is old and everyone knows that, do you think i regard iphone 5 screen as superior, hell no!, we dont only browse on our phones, a smartphone has multiple functionality and Super Amoled trumps LCD in every aspect ok, Amoled is much more battery efficient because it doesnt need backlight to illuminate colours. It seems you dont know anything about tech, go and research please. Yeah the phone weighs like a tonne of bricks, once you pick it up, you may think twiice about buying that heavy rock, and why is it so fat as well?

Found my joke of the day xD lmao telling me to do research...
And if you think AMOLED beats LCD in every aspect, then I can't help to say, you are living in a fish tank.
AMOLED ---- LCD
Best contrast ----- Not the best contrast
Oversaturated colors ----- Natural colors
Less bright ----- Higher brightness
Burn-in effect ----- No burn-in like AMOLEDs
Degrades quicker ----- No problem
Consumes less energy for blacks, too much for whites ----- consumes equal energy for every color

Do you know Droid DNA's full HD display? Everybody thought that the small battery will kill the phone, but it really offers good life. Because of the display. and it uses LCD.http://blog.gsmarena.com/htc-droid-dna-takes-battery-tests-heres-what-it-scored/

Have heard of IGZO displays? They are the future of displays in 2013. This is still LCD.

Telling me to research lol... I never talk out of fanboyism.

Give it up Nokia/LCD fan, LCD is just a glorified CRT, its gonna be obselete anytime soon, OLED is the new tecnology everyone is clamoring for now, LG, Samsung, Sony are all gearing up into OLED technology into 2013. AMOLED can emulate all LCD colour presentation, but LCD doesnt come even close to what AMOLED can do, vivid colours, infinty blacks, much better screen response time, slimmer, less power consumption, flexible, the benefit are just endless. The phone with the best battery life is Motorola and has an AMOLED display so STFU ok. That phone Nokia 920 is thick and fat and nobody wants it, keep on dreaming

you're gay!!! whining on a 185g phone!! lol..haven't held 5110 before? a bottle of water perhaps?

really hate why american reviewer whine over the weight of lumia 920!! and thats only american reviewers, while european, they are ok with it! and its worth its weight... some people even think that the 808 PV weight more than lumia 920 which is kinda odd coz 808 PV only weights 165g!

stop whining.. if you love your crapsung that much... let it be.. and we dont care! samsung is just called king coz it ruled the android empire..but the real king of smartphones is nokia.. i bet if nokia will make android, everyone will jump on nokia phones in no time!! and samsung will be forgotten!

i mean samsung cant overthrow nokia before, even without android..coz they know nokia! the best in software and hardware... while its reign now is just not that great...coz its all thanks to android! without android, samsung is nothing!

I assume you are a lady :) anyway good that you like the completely normal phone.. at least you should be there to buy the ativ s nah..

Weight doesnt matter, everyone says that they get used to it so easily and not bugging, thickness is because of the amazing camera sensor.. And you should know if you want amoled with deep blacks, its Nokia clear black on amoled.. I got mine, its super awesome.. In my opinion L920 has a better screen than your note 2 :P

L920 has better resolution, way higher pixel density which means better still.. and Puremotion tech of Nokia.. There must have been some reason to use a LCD instead of amoled.. anyway still reviews say that the screen is awesome..

Well, buy the galaxy s3 dummy if you really want,

Well, well, well, Samsung went a l'le too ahead wanting to compete with the release dates of other WP8 flagships. The first one to announce but the last one to release...

It was going to be a hard sell anyway, Samsung should've gone for a more radical design, since that's what attract the Microsoft masses.

Not sure why everyone is worried. WP8 will have a while second wave of devices. The ATIV can just bridge the gap. If Samsung is serious about WP (big if) and supports it, it will be fine and profitable.

It just doesn't matter. People will choose other two wp phones cause they are iconic and awesome. But Ativ S is just not there.
