Rebranded Android...sorry Samsung...it's a fail...

10. Jelly_Bean posted on 09 Oct 2012, 04:39 11 11

Do you even know what and about which company are you talking about?

If this is a fail then don't expect Nokia to win WP8's race just on the basis of camera and maps.

It is Samsung and they are best whatever they do. I won't say much but will c ya after its release :)

Nokia has better Camera, good maps, better puremotion screen that can respond to anything (even to a banana lol), killer design and build quality, gorilla glass 2 protection and higher ppi screen. tell me if ive missed anything

The only thing you missed its that it has that stupid exclusivity deal with AT&T which will hamper sales. Samsung's ATIV S is not a bad phone & has the bigger screen & it has the Samsung badge behind it.

The Samsung Galaxy S III got voted BEST phone of 2012 & it has that stigma. So to the average customer the Samsung name means good because of the awards the Samsung Galaxy S III has won.

So Nokia has been out of the loop in the U.S. for a while while Samsung has commercials galore & has awards behind it. You ask the average customer who is better Nokia or Samsung & Samsung will get more votes based on the last 2 plus years of reputation it has built.

Yes the Nokia Lumia 920 is overall a better phone, but it's not light years better. The only thing that is really better is the PureView camera. Everything else is VERY comparable to the Lumia 920. Plus to me 4.8" screen is better than 4.5" screen.

Ive actually missed that coz im not in the US so i least care about that.and i dont thing k 0.3 inch is a big difference in size

24. AstronautJones posted on 09 Oct 2012, 08:40 4

The Sammy has gorilla glass 2 as well, I believe. At least the Galaxy SIII does. The higher PPi is due to a smaller screen though, correct? So yes, basically a GSIII with Windows, better design..... Sounds good to me.

dont talk bs if you dont know what are you actually talkin about..

26. ZEUS.the.thunder.god posted on 09 Oct 2012, 12:56 1

what about sales ? if everything about Nokia is so perfect then why aren`t they selling? ...
i like Nokia but Sammy really nails it with everything. they sure dont make the most beautiful devices out there but they make killer beasts which gets the job done in a better way than anything else available in the market.

in the end sammy knows how to run a company......as simple as than :)

31. RobotMan posted on 09 Oct 2012, 21:42

Yes, add one more, Nokia build bad quality smartphone.

11. doejon posted on 09 Oct 2012, 05:12 5

i tell u what.. nokia would already been dead if windows has not saved nokias ass.. so nokia highly dependent to windows..

@phil2n
they dont need to ;-) it is anyways a good phone

12. doejon posted on 09 Oct 2012, 05:20 5

as long as the focosing on android :-)
i personaly dont like the wp gui sure the performance is great
but the look of it, meh.. i don´t like this kind of sterile look..
wait 4 upcoming android versions android is getting even better :-). i dont hate wp but i prefere android

1.android
2.wp8/tizen
3.ios
4.symbian

just my opinion and favor

25. AstronautJones posted on 09 Oct 2012, 08:45

I agree that android looks the best right now. Will Dows has a potential to be the smoothest, most complete OS. Happy with my Galaxy S3 for now, but keeping an eye on Windows for sure....

Google is not making me happy anyway. Can't use Google Plus because I have an uncommon last name(not really Jones you see).

Anyway as who's gonna buy this phone, when the lumia 920 aka best phone in the world is running wp8 as well, Samsung I thought you just copied apple but no you even copy yourself lol looser lol.

22. SleepingOz posted on 09 Oct 2012, 08:14 5

+1 for the "lumia 920 aka best phone in the world" joke.

29. Jelly_Bean posted on 09 Oct 2012, 14:43

wp8forever:- You may be a retard or a person who is fed up from Apple lolzzz

19. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 09 Oct 2012, 07:43 4

I have to disagree. This is probably the best WP8 after the Nokia Lumia 920. I think it will be DEFINITELY the best selling though. Verizon is going to get it because the Lumia 920 is going to be an AT&T exclusive.

WP8 is actually very intuitive & to me has WAY more potential than the buggy iOS6. To me the best OS's are Android & WP8.

The rebranded Android comment really makes no sense. WP8 is its own entity. By no means is this phone a FAIL. The Samsung ATIV S is a force to be reckoned with in the WP8 world.

20. PhenomFaz posted on 09 Oct 2012, 07:44 4

Dude get your facts right!
Samsung makes quality!
how is it a rebranded android??? In myopinion HTC has the best windows phone but Samsung definitely does not make bad products! I think the second would be samsung.
I just dont see Nokia winning the WP8 race....the signs are already there...MS going into its own phone production in spite of having a partnership with Nokia

2. phil2n posted on 09 Oct 2012, 03:01 6 2

they are not really focusing on WP

4. MeoCao (unregistered) posted on 09 Oct 2012, 03:33 1 2

SS is very successful with Android so of course they do not want to change anything, But they will not underestimate WP so Ativ S is a back up plan for them and they will not pay a lot of attention to that.

3. chunk1x posted on 09 Oct 2012, 03:14 14

Nokia sucks. They let Engadget do it and it is just teasing. Come on! Let Phone Arena or GSM Arena do the full review now. Engadget will just fake the photo comparison against the iPhone again. Bring it here and no more teasing.

Just hated the first two words. the rest is alright

5. ogy_dogy posted on 09 Oct 2012, 04:10 2 5

that flimsy back cover says it all for me, why samsung? why?? its a premium handset, make it out of aluminum, not look like aluminum....

16. PapaSmurf posted on 09 Oct 2012, 06:31 1

Because aluminum is heavy?

33. ogy_dogy posted on 10 Oct 2012, 06:05

And still those 10grams more would add to the solid feeling. But phones seem to be getting lighter and thinner each day and i for one dont like it. Thats why im sticking with nokia.

7. SonyXperiaNexus posted on 09 Oct 2012, 04:24 2 5

Nokia better kick this phones' ass if they want to be the only true windows phone manufacturer. I have no doubt it will.

To be honest Nokia is not gonna do what they expect from windows.

28. SemperFiV12 posted on 09 Oct 2012, 14:02

Not a fan of the materials... but screen real estate is a definite plus. As well as SD card capability. Oh boy!

30. bkb01 posted on 09 Oct 2012, 21:04

i wonder which would be launched first..the biggest problem of nokia has always been their release dates. they seemed to havent changed it..i waited a long time for the nokia n8 after its announcement, hope they change this trend with the lumia 920
