Samsung 86s QWERTY dock for three popular tablets, replaces it with two part accessory

0. phoneArena posted on 11 Feb 2013, 09:07

The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 and the Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 7.0 no longer have a one piece QWERTY keyboard accessory as Samsung has decided to replace it with a two piece accessory that includes a Bluetooth connected QWERTY keyboard and a separate piece that acts as a tablet stand that also recharges the slate...

While ASUS is horrid with device firmware support (the ICS release for my TF101 is absolute s**te, and others report the same for the Prime and Infinity as well as loads of other issues), the dock is second to NONE!

Being able to turn my Tablet from a simple tablet, to almost a laptop, is damn near the best thing EVER!

Not to mention that I have the OG Galaxy Tab for Verizon with the dock, and using that thing anywhere else then a desk, is a damn joke, and considering the dock style hasnt changed, its still a joke! This new dock however, turn it from being a joke, to just not being an option at all...

ASUS will forever remain king when it comes to Tablet+Dock

I don't understand why Samsung doesn't make a Transformer dock(with a battery) for their tablets..

Either get a keyboard dock like the Asus or even at least like the Samsung ATIV does.

Or they should bring back the bluetooth keyboard case like they had for the original Galaxy Tab 10.1, it was better than most of the ipad cases out.

I have had the keyboard dock with my Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 plus, and it is not very portable, compared to something like the Logitech Keyboard, with the sleeve of the KB changing into a stand. I have since changed to a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, with a Logitech Keyboard and find it is a really good match (although some changes to the KB would be nice). It is definitely more portable than the KB Dock.
The really nice thing about a 2-piece, is the possibility of putting your tablet in one spot, and having the KB anywhere (lap, table, in hand, etc.)
