SNL hits iPhone right where it hurts
The audience for Saturday Night Live has certainly changed from the early days of the show, Instead of jokes about sex, drugs and rock n' roll, we now see the audience get a hearty laugh from a joke about...cellphones? Of course, since just about everyone knows a person toting around an iPhone-or personally owns one-this joke hits real close to home. With the way things are going in the rivalry between AT&T and Verizon, does this mean we should look forward to Luke Wilson as next week's SNL guest host?

I have only gotten some dropped calls but whatever..I use my iphone 3gs for work..nothing more..9/10 phone calls go through 99% of the time I travel..the joke is still on others carriers unable to talk n surf the web at the same time!

Actually any of Sprint's PDA's have the ability to talk and text or talk and search the web at the same time...face it, At&t was good and now they have less than competitive technology which leaves them in the dust of the more advanced company. Why would you choost a company that puts all their money into one device that when debuted was already not as good as phones currently available.

LoL, Talk and surf.........WoW , That's exciting !

Sprint uses CDMA, I have BB Tour right here and I cannot talk and surf at the same time. Check your facts. You face it, GSM is still a world wide standard. How does that equate to being left in the dust? Enough already.

Doesnt T-Mobile let you do that too? It is cool to talk and surf at the same time but i wouldnt die if i didn't have it.

I can talk and surf the web at the same time on my Motorola DROID with Verizon. Yes I have to be on WiFi but still able too. Besides AT&T fails to mention you need to be on 3G to do voice/data...oh wait, there is a map for that too.

use wifi genious!...then you can do both, check your facts, i can on my hero

14. vzw fanman posted on 20 Dec 2009, 16:44

me too. but i've never had a need to use both at the same time.

Yea saying the joke is on other carriers cause they cant surf the web and talk at the same time is like telling someone their phone is awesome and yours sucks but its better because it can do 2 things badly at the same time that the other phone cant. Really if thats the only argument to why AT&T and the iPhone r better than other carriers and other phones u better throw in the towel.

+1 even though Sprint ads 4g but Clearly demonstrates 3G technology phone, frst 4g network with no 4g functioning devices, Sprint is right behind at&t, well and everone else for that matter...

95. jhnnyblze2000 posted on 21 Dec 2009, 17:46

What the iPhone fanboy doesn't tell u or in this case probably doesn't know is that any GSM carrier can do this. Not just AT&T or the iPhone. So there really is nothing special about being able to talk and surf the web at the same time. Its old news.

Hey big Papa LTE troll, VZW will not have voice devices for quite sometime....Oh wait they don't even have LTE yet, infact NOBODY DOES!!! Who is behind douche bag.

Where would Att be without the iphone? That whole incentive thing to stop iphone users from using so much data is hilarious.

8. cellgeek82 posted on 20 Dec 2009, 13:48

After the DROID came out if AT&T hadn't had the iPhone they'd be up the creek without a paddle. Too bad it's on a glitchy network. I recently got the DROID and I think it's better than the iPhone. Some of my iPhone friends are thinking of leaving AT&T now! And yes, I'm able to make phone calls too (hence the video). Also I took some video on the Droid camera and the quality is amazing! Even a co-worker of mine (iPhone user) was jealous of the camera quality.

16. AZNphoneGeek posted on 20 Dec 2009, 17:27

saying you got a DROID is like saying "i got the BLACKBERRY" or" i got the WINDOWS MOBILE". it's an operating system, not an ice cream flavor. at least you didn't get the KYOCERA hehe

21. tonyc_42 posted on 20 Dec 2009, 18:05

actually DROID is not an operating system. it's the name of the phones dummy. Android is the operating system.
