SIM cards with built in Wi-Fi not too far off from the near future?

Imagine instead of using something like a Mi-Fi, you can simply place your SIM card to any device and have it share 3G connections via Wi-Fi being emitted...

at&t sucks ! i have it and get horrible reception in LA ! i cant wait to switch to verizon!

This is a great development for 3G GSM phones. AT&T and T-Mobile in the states are going to benefit hugely when the adopt this technology. Notice how AT&T and T-Mobile do not offer MiFi. With this new simcard instantly a phone can become a Mi-Fi hotspot. . . CDMA fan boys this is a big development. . .Are CDMA MiFi cards dead. . .NO! There is a huge advantage of having the separate device. . .i'd like to see some information and numbers about how this effects battery life. . .
