S Voice sounds like a bored version of Siri in this video challenge
0. phoneArena posted on 14 Jun 2012, 01:40
Is the S Voice ready for Prime Time? Based on a comparison video, it would appear so as both interactive personal assistants quickly answered questions, set an alarm and sent a text message; S Voice could use a little work on the vocals which sometimes sounded bored and distant...

how many percent of iPhone buyers use Siri every day more than 2x? ;)

I wish I could have Siri on my iPhone 4...it sucks we won't be getting the features i really want such as flyover, Siri, turn-by-turn navigation, and 3g FaceTime. What makes it even worse is that I bought my iPhone 4 in march so i won't be due for an upgrade until 2 years from now. I'll have to look to the jailbreak community this fall.

Don't feel too left out, turn-by-turn navigation will only be available through 3rd party apps.
7. quakan posted on 14 Jun 2012, 02:10 2
Yeah but the biggest feature I really want is Siri. I find myself in too many situations where Siri would be very useful because i drive quite a bit. I'm actually not interested in jailbreaking my phone just because I don't really see the need for it, but the only thing making me consider it is to get Siri but there's so many bad Siri hacks that idk where to find a stable one.

wow seem like the word Fragmentation has back fired at Apple i hope they realize that and start optimizing the os to run on older hardware. Knowing how Apple as a whole thinks i don't see that happening anytime soon. Apple talking (you have to feed the investers we can't forget that)

I think hoping is really all we can do. I honestly think Apple will continue to say Siri is in Beta form until they drop support for the iPhone 4 and then they will say that it's final and it will become Siri version 1.0. Here's a little side note too: I think the next iPhone will be called "The new iPhone". If you think about it, technically it would be the 6th iPhone so iPhone 5 would fit chronologically but not technically. That's all lol.

The problem is, is that I want the best of both worlds. I wish someone would come up with iAndroid and allow me to have the best features of both platforms, but keep the iOS look and feel (just my personal preference).

Actually Android has a lot more to offer in the features dept. than iOS does and besides if all your concerned about is the look and feel of iOS there are plenty on Themes on Google Play Store where you can get that feeling if that's all your concerned about. Also the voice features available on the GS2 are wonderful when driving. I can't tell you how much I love my GS2. I pop it into the car dock and it automatically recognizes I'm in the car and sets everything up to work via voice automatically. All I have to say is "Hi Galaxy" and she asks me what I'd like to do.

depending on what phone, and if you're willing to root, there are MIUI roms, look into them and you'll be surprised as to how much they can ease an iphone user into coming to android.
22. SubaruMasterGR posted on 14 Jun 2012, 09:36 0
There is the MIUI ROM for Android that has the aesthetics of iOS with the features of Android. It's available for many popular Android phones, including the Galaxy S II. It'll most likely come to the S III and the One X, among other high-end 2012 Android smartphones.
24. remixfa posted on 14 Jun 2012, 10:58 0
best of both worlds.
get a galaxy phone
install a MIUI rom. Its made to look like apple. bam. Apple's look with android's functionality.. and a much bigger screen. :)

are you really going to try to troll me? Yet another mindless idiot trying me. Line up. You will fall by the wayside with a dunce cap on like everyone else that has tried.

I'm on a mission to expose all the apple bashers. So you hate iPhones but you use miui roms to experience the simplicity of ios on your android to get the "best of both world". You're a clown, you're happy with android on the outside but a apple lover on the inside. Lmao
32. remixfa posted on 14 Jun 2012, 15:30 1
your on a mission to expose apple bashers? really? are you that stupid? Is this taco's new alt personality?? lol.
other than the fact that your a ridiculous moron, I never said that I use miui. Knowing it exists and using it are not the same. Are you sure this isnt taco? you guys have the same lack of reading comprehension. iOS is too bland for my taste, why would I make my phone a boring list of icons?
33. Quezdagreat posted on 14 Jun 2012, 16:13 2
No I'm not taco, all you fandroid n*rds always bring up taco in a article. What do you get for bashing apple on every article? Do you get PA achievement points? Get a life and not a hobby
35. remixfa posted on 14 Jun 2012, 19:25 0
says the guy who said it was his "mission" to go after apple bashers.. lolol

As I saw in this video,S voice works better. It is more likely you talk with a person not a machine. But both of them need some promotions.
11. Ivan6479 posted on 14 Jun 2012, 03:04 4
I have to agree with you. It definitely appeared that S Voice responded much better and didn't have any problems recognizing what he wanted to say/do as Siri did. Also thanks to Google Navigation it automatically starts giving you directions and sends you on your merry way. :)
Another thing I have to add is I'm curious if we are able to change the voice on S voice as I have done with my Google Navigation. I downloaded a free third party app that has many different voices to choose from and mine sounds like a beautiful woman from England. I must say I enjoy her company on long drives. LOL

best smartphone is oneS? Wow google voice action sucks than my svoice.. I dunno y those dumb@ss satisfiy the phone which is non-removable battery
14. Nathan posted on 14 Jun 2012, 03:30 5
S-Voice didn't sound bored, if anything it had a more professional tone.
16. Evil_SaNz posted on 14 Jun 2012, 04:16 1
iPhonearena had to protect the useless Siri gimmick from s-voice attack! Until we won't be able to trigger it only with the voice, both lose all their usefulness. If I have the phone in my hands, will always be quicker to find stuff by myself.
And Majel from G (hopefully) should be what we were looking for - some leaks from project glass...
17. Mitchel posted on 14 Jun 2012, 04:43 1
Little shocking that S-Voice didn't choke.. That thing is improving.. lol
19. frydaexiii posted on 14 Jun 2012, 07:09 1
Oh for god sake, is this article necessary? You can just download another Voice for S Voice like Ivona Voice.
20. mercorp posted on 14 Jun 2012, 07:18 2
Or a hatsune miku-voiced siri and s-voice?
It will be every otaku's dream.
23. RevKBA posted on 14 Jun 2012, 10:49 1
Another headline that tries to shed negativity on Android. It could have easily read "Siri has no sense of direction," but we wouldn't want to point out a flaw in the iphone now would we?
25. remixfa posted on 14 Jun 2012, 10:59 1
Svoice choked twice. once because it didnt understand "yes", and once because it didnt have that feature. S-Voice was slightly faster getting things done but Siri "sounded" nicer.
Id throw that as a win for android for the simple fact that it never stuttered and it could do anything the user asked.
30. remixfa posted on 14 Jun 2012, 14:07 1
oh, your right.. sorry. i ment Siri choked, not S-Voice.
34. E.N. posted on 14 Jun 2012, 18:53 0
You really need to calm that pro-Android mentality of yours. I'm sure you didn't miss the part where he spoke at the same time as the tone and thus not making it register.
And I'm sure you saw that when the guy sent a text message, s voice added a question mark to the end of the text, which would mean that the reviewer would have to go through a whole series of voice commands to fix even a small error such as that.
If you're in the U.S., its pretty much a tie, you just need to get use to the software and timing. If you're not in the U.S., then obviously you won't get directions for anything much. But once Fall comes in, I'm sure you'll have your clear winner

This is amazing I am glad voice recognition is doing well . It seemed to understand the person more then siri was able too ! Voice recognition is at it's point were siri was in iPhone 4s but now that it is being updated with ios 6 it now knows sports -.- . anyways Samsung rules and i will buy this device :)
