Nice Specs. I doubt New BB devices will be able to use 2 GB RAM for the lack of apps. But we will never know. I hope BB10 is good competition. But, I want BBM to die.

RIM has developed 70,000 apps already and I'm sure that will still grow. I don't want bbm to be gone but for it to be also available to android,wp,ios

RIM developed 70,000 apps? Are you sure it weren't app developers and not RIM?

first thing it was app developers not RIM thats why they released the dev alpha devices.
Second the processor, screen and battery are not exactly 2013 flagship material....this phone aint gonna sell...period!

That was quite the ridiculous comment... seeing as the iPhones will sell no matter what the specs because of their loyal followers.

yeah mate Aplle has big brand image with a very loyal fan base...and currently RIM has neither. people are going to be very critical about their first major device overhaul and if all they can come up with is some mid-range specs in 2013 and knowing RIM they always price their phones at premium price...it aint gonna sell

I guess you travelled around the globe and realized there are no loyal fan base? If and when the phone comes out, steer clear if you don't want to buy but stop exposing your ignorance with your thoughts.

The iphone 4s or 5 might not have groundbreaking specs but they perform equal or better than most high end phones. RIM lost all of the followers they had since the iphone and android released. They dont have what it takes to bring back all of them. BBM have always sucked, imo.

"RIM lost all of the followers", were did you get the information for that ridiculous statement?

Not all the followers but people went for the best, android and ios. And started to ignore bbm because it was overpriced and outdated. How many people do i know that talk about bbm now? Almost none, and when they do talk it's for the same reasons. But a couple of years ago i knew a lot of people with bbm, people move on for what's best. And honestly, i think bbm was always overated. And, probably, this new device will be overated as well.

I think if they market it correctly and they keep getting developers for applications it will do very well we will just have to wait and see.

I think RIM is aiming for the mid range and business market that often do not look for flagship phones and instead stick to solid builds that allows all company goodness to be run on it.

Totally agree. RIM has was sold overpriced products with low end or mid specs. I remember seeing in a store a blackberry with a 528mhz cpu, 256mb ram, 2 mp camera and it had the same price as the galaxy ace. And it had blackberry os 7 which as been outdated since it was released.

Maybe not for a single app but I guess it'll help when it comes to multi-tasking.

Thats a strong statement "I want BBM to die"..

Every platform brings something new and innovation.
Blackberry brought BBM (secure messaging).
Email integration and other secure services were provided by BB when there were no others.

Why people want a company to fail when its a bit down and is trying to revive ... Ridiculous..

People say the same for Nokia also.
All have been good and are now trying hard to be Up.
Lets have more choices. :)

Ridiculous? When did I say I want company to fail? I perfer competition. I like BB10. It has some exclusive features. I don't want company to fail. I said, I hope it stays in competition. I hate it when they try to bring exclusive apps and force choices on consumer. We too are stake holders. Bring exclusive features like encryption between BB devices. But make it cross platform too. Why can't I talk to my friends who prefers BB? I prefer watsapp. Its not coming to BB. I don't like that either. If situations allow, I would switch to something else, Gree messenger may be.

What part of blackberry can't you read? Root a blackberry and install CyanogenMod 10?

Shouldn't that be the other way around? "I hope we can root this babe so cm10 can become available"

Either way.... I don't expect this to happen at all.

Would BB10 be able to use Android apps or is it totally different from QNX? So far from what I hear it should be easy to port over Android apps to BB10 (crackberry).

If it was easy to port, wouldn't RIM be screaming about how easy the port is?

actually RIM has spoke on several occassions about the ease to port to QNX. This is one of the reasons that despite poor sales, the playbook has a pretty healthy library of apps. Despite it being a "Dead" platform, companies like Halfbrick have recently ported all their games over. Despite being dead, it got Angry Birds Space several months before Windows Phone did, which just recently got it. Im sure a lot of app developers probably wouldnt have bothered with Playbook if not for this functionality. Playbook OS also plays nicely with BB10 I would assume, because having 70k apps at launch is an impressive milestone, that is well beyond what any other platform launch had, and I don't see how they could achieve that if current Playbook apps didnt port over easily.

Have RIM said anything about porting apps to BB10? In the lead-up to the PlayBook launch, there were multiple articles about how easy it was to port apps. Fast-forward to now, and silence. Maybe RIM is satisfied with 70k apps in their ecosystem?

PlayBook and BB10 OS are one and the same . When the BB10 Phone is released , the PlayBook will update to BB10 Tablet . The phone will essentially be the tablet , with phone+ capabilities .
