We've been hearing rumors for a while about this project, allegedly dubbed One Sony, but now a tipster of hours fleshed out the title with some heartwarming stories about Cyber-shot and Walkman tech about to be stuffed in flagship Xperia smartphones with Android. Of course, the information below is neither confirmed by Sony, nor verified, save for some rumblings on several company-centric forums, so we can't vouch for its credibility, but here's the full scoop...

The one day they fuse #1 and #2 together to make a kick a** smartphone.. I wonder how big the jaws of the competitor will open :O

Impossible. it goes against all business philosophies. Once you've given your best, you can't go higher, therefore you can only go down.
Same reason as why no manufacturers will produce a bulletproof/waterproof phone with 1TB storage, dslr quality cam and stereo speakers with hd screen in one beautiful package.

Well for me its different in a smartphone. Companies can't give there best and go lower! That's the worst idea ever. Just like when we think everybody has given their best with their current flagship, they manage to make their next flagship better. That's the smartphone industry... You can't throw your best and then go down you need to go higher. That is specifically why phones go old overtime because there topped by another phone and that's the other reason why a lot of people are at a constant quest for a future-proof phones.

yes, but their 'best' will only be marginal. That's the reason apple and other major tech companies only offer slight upgrades which everyone is complaining about.
everytime you read about wondrous technologies like ultra-long lasting batteries or small dslr-quality lenses, you'd expect comsumers to get them asap. but no, because they will try to milk your money by offering products with slight imperfections which they will then pretend to improve over time.

I miss my walkman X. Every other mp3 players I've owned afterwards sounded horrible compared to it. The design was timeless. Hope to see some walkman phones with that kind of design.

Back then, i really want to get one, but the price is timeless

Samsung will perhaps release a similar phone before Sony ... and Apple will be busy filing patents for whatever that can be patented from this concept. Sony as usual will be late ...
No one knows when JB comes to Xperia S/SL/Acros S and P. Last working day of month already gone ...

One Sony specs recap
5 inch 1920x1080p 2000:1 Contrast VA Type screen, X-
Reality 2 GB RAM
Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 2.3 ghz + Adreno 330
4G LTE Global
20 mpx downsample tech 1/2.3" = 1/2" size sensor,
IP 55/57 Water/Dust resistant 2700-3000 mAh Battery
Xenon/ Dual LED Plasma flash
Walkman Audio Will be sold under a new sub brand umbrella like
Samsung Galaxy "S" line Also it won't be anywhere near as thick as Pureview 808
etc simply because Exmor RS is a stacked sensor and as
such even with same sensor size and max res, it is
physically significantly smaller than other brand sensors
and even Sony's own Exmor R sensors.
And as I mentioned earlier, the sensor on one sony will be exclusive to Sony. Samsung/Apple etc won't get their
hands on it.

Panel is undecided but it will be one of these:
5 inch 1080p WhiteMagic JDI 2000:1 Contrast IPS-NEO
5 inch 1080p Sharp IGZO 2000:1 Contrast MVA panel.
Both have same viewing angles, and quality too about the same. Power efficiency is also same
High quality VA panels have as good or better viewing
angles than IPS. Htc One X/ HTC One etc have VA panel.

Best camera stays the Nokia 808, second with big distance to third is the Lumia920. I know from experience, tested both myself. Lumia 920 wins by far. It ain't all specs that count. Or better spec's are much less important as shown by Nokia. The waterproof thing though is not that innovative or practical. You can stand in the rain with your Lumia without any problems. It's the design which makes eater inflow less possible. That's smart design.

and lets bring your lumia 920 to water park or beach can your lumia taking picture underwater like xperia go, acro s, v, or z
can lumia smart design make a call or sms under heavy rain give me the video if you can!!!

Tested both means Experia and the Lumia920. Lumia 920 beats every smartphone including the tested new Experia easily.

buhahaha...Sony at last chose the right approach. Carl Zeiss, huge sensor, blablabla...copying Nokia sony? Where's your magical exmor rs sensor? Is it overrated?
Yes sir, it is.
You can try but you've lost too much time on gimmicks and magic tricks trying to do the same as htc...and you lag behind Nokia. Good luck
I can see that bunch of nerds who don't even remember the original cybershot series are salivating on sony's so called reborn.
They just want to copy all Nokia's ideas...including puireview tech (oversampling using an enermous sensor), xenon flash which hasn't been used by them since k850i (and satio a bit later) and Carl Zeiss optics, because so far they've been using a rubbish and crappy ones that even their magic exmor sensor couldn't fix.
