Rumor: HTC Merge delayed to receive LTE radio, Incredible HD to be LTE also

Put on your filters for this one, because the following is very unofficial. According to a Verizon Wireless Engineer (see below) the HTC Merge will be delayed, in order to receive an LTE radio. This would make the Merge the first 4G smartphone from Verizon. The Verizon employee said that the HTC Incredible HD will also be an LTE-capable device.

The Merge was originally slated for a November 11 launch. The employee later tweeted that the delay may or may not happen, but the addition of LTE was definite. The Incredible HD, which is basically a Verizon version of Sprint's HTC EVO 4G, will also be receiving an LTE radio. The Incredible HD will now supposedly be released on New Year's Day.

The source went on to claim that Verizon would be launching a new Android device each of the first four months in 2011. Is this too much speculation for you to handle? We shouldn't be surprised that Verizon is adding LTE to certain devices at the last minute. With their LTE network going up at the end of the year, it's only right that we should have some phones to show off its capabilities.
