Yes, the Holy Grail has been discovered by djrbliss. He has taken the time (once again) to come up with a working root method for the newest Motorola smartphones: DROID RAZR M, DROID RAZR HD, DROID RAZR MAXX HD, and the Atrix HD.

I'm having issues rooting a Verizon Droid RAZR M. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I ran the run.bat file and it looked like everything ran successfully, however upon reboot I found I still did not have root access. (I tested by downloading root checker from the play store). Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Below is the output after the run.bat file.

Nevermind, went back re-read KingKurogiii's post #22 and that did it. Thanks!

I ran everything and it looked like it worked fine but it didn't. Every app I test to see if my phone is rooted says it failed to get root access. How do I unroot and start over?

i was able to root it on JB. don't get frustrated and decide to just ditch the phone.

i found that replacing the Superuser.apk and the su files did the trick for me after i was having trouble with it. just download the "Rootzipfile" from the "Installing a recovery and rooting your Dev Razr-M" article on aosp.us and replace the "Superuser.apk" and the "su" files that's in the folder you're running the script from with the duplicates in the zip file you downloaded.

while the phone is powered on with the screen on you just press Power + Vol Up together until you feel a pretty subtle vibration and then proceed through the next steps. it's the Power + Vol Down which is making your phone reboot.

As far as I can tell, nothing went wrong. How do I know if I have root access though? I'm more used to jailbreaking and am not quite use to the Android OS :/

you're trying to trigger the bugreport when it prompts you to during the script right?

Yes I did. It was a subtle vibrate. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

if my suggestion in comment #22 didn't help then i would imagine your trouble is there. try holding the buttons down longer.

What does that mean and how do I fix it?
