Canadian carrier Rogers has cut the price of the Motorola Moto X to $169.99 with a signed two-year pact; this price matches the on-contract price of $169.99 for the phone charged by retailers Future Shop and Best Buy. The price off-contract remains the same at $549.99. The carrier has the exclusive for the Moto X in the country...

Its a tiny phone for the screen size but it does stutter in the app drawer. It looks like they were lying when they said that all it needs is a dualcore.

I checked one out at a Rogers outlet and it was fluid and fast overall.

no surprise, it's a mid range phone.
just wait couple of weeks, it will be FREE for new contracts / may be extra money also in giftcards

Rogers only cut price after box stores had.
I'd throw down $400 for one but can't see doing $550 sans contract.

The size of the phone is crazy when you see it in person, looks like the same size as the HTC One S basically. Too bad they screwed up the specs.
It also shows just how damn big the HTC One is and how it wastes space like water.

Nobody is falling for the trap. The Droid lineup should be following soon. And it’s pretty funny that Google’s own $199 Nexus could/will hurt the Moto X.

What leads you to believe a droid army is coming north other then if Verizon buys a Canadian telecom?
I can't think of one geared for release outside of Verizomn myself and I might be over looking one or some?
Other wise, this be the Moto line up for a spell here anyways.

The entire Motorola line is suspect. I expect discounts within a month especially after iPhone 5s and Note 3 hit the scene. All 4 moto device will just fade away into the sunset with no one paying attention to what happened. Motorola failed to make their lineup future proof against past, present and soon to be released devices. And it’s pretty sad that the LG G2 is better than all 4 of Motorola’s offerings.
I lost all hope in Motorola. They can only redeem themselves with a Nexus 5 running Kie Lime Pie.

I see, you actually mean the price following and going down.
This true they usually get runner over by the others shortly after launch, at least in CA it seems.

Nothing sad about it. LG makes some awesome products now. They have always had the tech which Apple has been making quite a pretty penny on. It's about time LG started incorporating it for themselves actually.
Motorola has sucked for awhile now. Their only product worth mentioning, the Razr flip phone was just basically the only pretty phone at the time so it was a huge hit. It wasn't even that good and they never made anything noticeable since.
At least LG made awesome screens, sexy looking Prada devices, fast memory for awhile now. So it isn't a suprise that the LG G2 is pretty crazy. Especially after how the LG Optimus G knocked it out of the park with every review giving it at least a 9. In fact, the LG G2 should be better than it currently is, I was slightly disappointed. I expected it to be better than a million Motorola offerings combined, better than just 4 of Motorola's offerings separately is missing the mark a bit for LG. The G2 should have really crushed the Moto X like a flea but it fell short and only thoroughly trashed the Moto X.

Moto is also not popular in Asia.
