Believe it or not, kids, there was a time when our parents and grandparents used phones that relied on wires in order to make calls possible. These phones were anything but portable and one couldn't even send text messages on them. They also looked a bit like this smartphone dock by Pyle audio, which hooks up to a landline, but can also work with a docked handset at the press of a button...
