Research firm expects 1.7 billion smartphones to be shipped in 2017 with Android leading the way

Ovum, a market research firm from London, says that smartphone shipments weill grow at an annual compounded growth rate of 24.9% between 2011-2017 to reach 1.7 billion units in 2017; the firm's principal analyst sees Android leading the way in 2017 with 48% of the global smartphone market...

What? RIM will have 10% and WP 17%? Sounds... insane. It's hard to believe. RIM will drop rapidly - they're in worse conditions and with way smaller portfolio than Nokia just before they slipped.
