Republic Wireless starts selling the Moto Z and Moto Z Play

If Republic Wireless is your preferred carrier, you'll be happy to know the network operator has just added two great Motorola devices to its portfolio: the Moto Z and Moto Z Play. Both are now available for purchase directly from Republic Wireless for $699 and $449, respectively.

Motorola's current top-notch smartphone, the Moto Z is a super-thin device that boasts a stunning 5.5-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Although it comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow onboard, we strongly believe that Motorola will provide owners with a Nougat update in the not so distant future.

Hardware-wise, the Moto Z offers only the best solutions thanks to its Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and Adreno 530 GPU. Also, the phone packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD.

One of the few downsides could be the fact that it comes with a rather small 2,600 mAh battery, but that's been tackled by Motorola, as the company include the TurboPower fast charging technology, which promises to charge 8 hours of power in just 15 minutes.

Other highlights of the phone include 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 5-megapixel selfie shooter, USB Type-C port and water repellent nano-coating.

On the other hand, the cheaper Moto Z Play comes with a much larger 3,510 mAh battery, but the 5.5-inch display supports full HD (1080p) resolution. On the inside, Motorola's mid-range smartphone packs a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage (expandable up to 2TB).

It's got a 16-megapixel camera on the back, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera. The Moto Z Play features the same water repellent design and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
