Report says that new Apple iPad sales are sluggish after that strong start

A report from China cites Foxconn employees as saying that they are assembling a smaller number of Apple's third-generation tablet each day; one employee was quoted as saying that after producing 150 to 180 iPads per hour, the workers at the plant sometimes can't even get 5 days of work in during a week...

i still think apple is dying a slow death. they have reached there peak i feel. once jobby jobs rolled they started to go down. he never would have whored out apple brand so fast.

Apple is not dying, They're facing a limited market that's getting saturated.
47. jcpwn2004 (Posts: 314; Member since: 18 Jan 2012)
exactly, the tablet is a very niche market. I won't be getting one until they're as functional as my laptop. I just got a 3lb ultrabook on ebay for 600$. I'm not going to spend 5-600 for a tablet plus all the accessories needed to make it somewhat functional compared to my laptop.
I view tablets more as toys than anything, and won't be buying one until they hit the 200$ target. The kindle fire doesn't count, that thing is crap.

wanna cheap tablets? Choose kindle fire...
wanna high-end tablets? Choose transformer prime...
NO MORE IPAD!!!

apple currently has lack of new ipad supply. some of my friends, buy cheap android tablet while waiting new ipad ready stock. for me, I better to wait until stock available rather than buying craps.

This is an apple article but not one user that supports Apple has come to post which is ironic since all the comments in here are from Android supporters. I don't get it.

I don't see how a multi billion dollar company is "dying" because iPad sales have slowed down.????
42. piyath (Posts: 150; Member since: 23 Mar 2012)
thats the way truth comes out... android is way ahead than ios. google is way ahead than apple in innovation.
so the talented ones will survive while others demolish. thats the darwin's
theory for the evolution of species in earth.
apple should come up with new some new headlines. innovation. difference is needed. android is far ahead than apple cuz it is very customizable. it can develop certain features in several aspects. apple cannot cuz they dont even have "several aspects".

yah i think apple has gotten a little too comfortable lately. A few spec bumbs once a year won't cut it in these super competitive markets anymore. They better come redesigned with new features as well if you're only going to put out 1 model a year.

Apple can use this as an opportunity to keep doing the same thing w/their new devices or do something different to provide more of change to what they consider a new product. As far as the "decline" of Apple, i doubt it. With their success with other hardware/software products to sustain them in the meantime i don't think the lack of iPad sales will break this company.

This report shown here is probably done this way: one product vs. group of various products.
Apple has released only 1 NEW product a year.
NEW Tablets with Android OS are released more often and by how many manufacturers?
Results may be different if the report was on between a single manufacturer/product vs. a single manufacturer/product.
What about the report of which has the most products returned by unsatisfied consumers? Would that affect market share?

This is the beginning of a new era. An era no longer dominated by fruit-based products! An era of Freedom!

argument between one drvice vs a bunch of various ptoducts is pointless. cuz they r obviously very different from one another. ppl do not buy a phone or tablet considering its shape, camera, and external hardware all the time. they do, but not always when it comes to the choice "operating system"...???
from that we can asume present soiciety is more knowlegable in tech side.
thus when considering the mobile OS those devises r so damn different. (android vs ipad or iphone). so here ppl have choosed to buy android.
Its a Simple thing to understand..
55. piyath (Posts: 150; Member since: 23 Mar 2012)
and also if there is a one android phone from lets say samsung & one ios devise from apple, yet people will buy that samsung device because of its OS. thus ios will fail. in that case also the reports will be the same like this one.
the sole idea here is with the OS. not the number of devices. the battle is between the two Opereting Systems. ios should rebuild there os to compete or to remain in this battle for another couple of years. they only rely on apps. my opinion is thats not enough.

Can't wait for the fandroid excuses when Apple reports record sales.
64. frydaexiii (Posts: 1157; Member since: 01 Dec 2011)
More like we can't wait to see what excuse record sales Apple will pull for this.
57. xtian1103 (Posts: 352; Member since: 11 Feb 2012)
well even if the sales stops at 3 million units... still outsold all android tablets combined!

Haha true even if you only count opening weekend sales it's still the best selling tablet by far.
74. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
thats an amazing statement considering apple is losing its top spot in sales to android tablets. Only took a hair over a year to do it.
What was that u used to say taco? "Its not a tablet market, its an ipad market"?
When the report comes out next month that android has officially taken first place in the tablet wars, are you going to change your slogan or just continue on like you have done with everything else, regardless of truth?

lol, He's an iFan, Steve's lingering reality distortion is still doing it's work on the weak minded like him. He still believes the iPhone is the best phone simply because it came first, Android is still a copy of iOS and the new iPad is revolutionary and nothing like it's predecessor.

pehaps iam an android fan , i own an ipad 3 and galaxy note, the reason i chose ipad 3 is resolution and ease of apps, every app you download works, there is no segmentation there. Here in android mali 400 games are much less, tegra has created another different segment for there phone. Sometime you end up download 1.5 GB of data and it is not compatible with you phone and you have passed the appreturn time of 15 min.
IPad 3 sales were good but since people now anticipate android tablets like asus transofrmer prime or windows 8 tablet, so there always be compitition higher than ever before. IPad will not have sales as they use to have in future as android ecosystem is gaining momentum but android needs to work on higher resolution sooner rather than later, there is no difference in galaxy note or asus transformer prime interms of resolution.

people keep forgetting that a slightly slow down from ipad sales is still better than Android tablets... so fandroids when your tablets start selling half of what the ipad sells then you guys can come here with an opinion...
86. jroc74 (Posts: 3977; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
I wouldnt care if they sold at 1/100 of what iPads do. As long as I still have a choice to get one, thats all thats matters to me.
I'm a guy. Car anology: the Nissan Altima was the majority of Nissan car sales last year. What would you rather have, an Altima or Maxima?
Me personally a want an Altima for the better gas milage. Some if not most guys would say the Maxima.
Sales isnt the only way to judge a product. How many of those exotic cars are sold a year vs an Altima? How may Phantoms got sold last year vs an Altima? Based on sales I guess the Altima is the better car. For me it would be cuz I also factor in repair costs. Most would pick the Phantom..
Nissan sold sold 100,000 Altimas last year...the Rolls-Royce Phantom....3,000......
88. gallitoking (Posts: 4630; Member since: 17 May 2011)
thatt makes the Altima a better car.. based on sales.. If I am a sales man push the Altima have a better chance of selling it... dont be afraid to say the Altima is better
91. gallitoking (Posts: 4630; Member since: 17 May 2011)
you can have the best product but if it doesnt sell what good is it?..
93. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
I'll take an altima v6 2door. Id rather have a 370 touring convertible though. can we add that into the conversation?
94. xtian1103 (Posts: 352; Member since: 11 Feb 2012)
sales matter in tech world. what happened to the xoom? how about the rest of the other android tablets? support for the product=sales=longer support from manufacturers bacause simply...it's selling. remember what a samsung executive said that "the best thing to survive in the market is to kill your products," and that "we want to stay competitive in the market." And with a new 5-inch, 7-inch, and 10.1-inch tablet in its portfolio, Samsung will have plenty of products to kill down the line if its stays true to Yoon's strategy.
95. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
they all do that. u think apple doesnt? offering up half of an OS update that magically slows the device is support?? lol
