Report: Samsung Galaxy S IV to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 inside; boot screen leaks

0. phoneArena 23 Feb 2013, 07:24 posted on

According to an insider, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S IV will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor instead of a Samsung Exynos one because of heating issues with the latter; while the HTC One will use a Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, the one used on the next flagship Samsung handset will be set at 1.9GHz...

There is more than 3 names you mentioned who are making Displays. Sharp, Auo, Japan Displays and So on.. Worth mentioning Samsung and LG. but Sony is not known for the best displays in Mobile Industry as far as i know. Sharp can easily replace.

Samsung is familiar with all types of displays, not just OLED. Look at the Nexus 10 screen, it is brilliant.

The LG Optimus G display is amazing. When I saw the wall paper of the pebbles I was like holy crap.

AMOLED is better on low-res screens such as the GS2, but going 720p+ LCD is better, viewing angles and brightness, and real colors... i'm okay with LCD, but still hoping for this:
a variant with snapdragon 600 and LTE
a variant with Exynos OCTA and no LTE

waaahhh.. SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH THE FONT/LETTER ARRANGEMENT IN THAT BOOT SCREEN!!!
the "g" in samsung should always be on top of the "X" in GALAXY
just like in all galaxies...

Superamoled and exynos is reserved to Sammy tizen, an os who tend to be ignored by public... Tizen is going to success right after the android...

Sammy learn the lessons from bada for making too much low end phone... Sammy said before during the ces and say tizen will be as competitive as flagship phone...

They used QC in the GS3 US variants because of the LTE issue, but anywhere else got the exynos processor. I believe the US versions of the Note2 had the exynos.

And most Samsung phones have a super amoled screen. The only thing was pentile being used in the super amoled HD versions. Most are hoping for a non pentile super amoled HD at 1080p. But Samsung has always used amoled screens for almost all of their phones, to the point where its a shock if they use something else.

Why do you think it shock? People choose Samsung because it make better hardware than other turf device, they careless the screen quality tho... And the pentile screen prove us all...

I like the square form, and the specs seem alright, nothing to be surprised about after the Xperia Z and the HTC One. Can anyone explain me what a FHD SoLux screen is? how is it compared to the SAmoled or SLCD3? Too bad they are sticking with the plastic back, I hope at least is not glossy but with some nice finish like the back of the Galaxy Nexus

SoLux, according to some websites, is the successor of SLCD-2. This might mean that it is a synonym of SLCD-3

SoLux displays have improved viewing angles, outdoor visibility, and color accuracy, compared to regular LCDs. HTC calls the display on the One Super LCD 3, so I am not sure if it’s a different tech or just a rebranding. > Androidauthority

Sorry, Samsung's LCD is inferior, my HTC One X has no light bleed whatsoever.

I've seen light bleed on One X and also Sensation xe, so can't agree with you on that.

That's hilarious.
Aluminum back doesn't mean a non removable back.
I could give you plenty of examples, but this will do:

http://www.google.com/search?q=galaxy+s3+aluminum+case&hl=en&gl=US&source=android-browser&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=9fQoUdKrDpHPsgasiICgAg&ved=0CEkQsAQ&biw=360&bih=640#p=0

So, I really don't see why Samsung would go with a plastic back if sides are aluminum.
But oh well, let's wait and see

huh? those r just casings..
if ull have a removable back cover, aluminum back will be very difficult for one to remove and put it back unless there's good way made for it/..

A15 compatible with small batteries is not ready yet. Makes you wonder if the Tegra 4 is gimped A15 or real A15 though.

Wow. A galaxy flagship with neither Samsung's in-house Exynos nor AMOLED, that won't go down well in the market.
