What other quadcore Android slate options are in the pipeline? The GoogleAsus 'Nexus' I guess. Anything else decent that's gonna be worth considering as a summer purchase?

Brilliant move, since that the GTab 2 is just almost the same as the GTab. Bringing a new quadcore is just awesome!

Now I'm excited for the launch of this tab/note....... Hope samsung is also able to squeeze in at least 1920x1080p screen on samsung galaxy note 10.1, then this tablet would be real ipad killer....... :)

Now this one should have been called the Galaxy Tab 2. Samsung foolishly bit off it's own arm when it abruptly turned it's naming scheme for premium models into one for budget models.

I agree, but disagree. I agree that Samsung's GT2 isn't much of an upgrade to what was a premium model, but I don't think this model should have that name. I think Sammy did a good job in keeping it as the Note 10.1 because it has a more specific target in the market (i.e. teachers, students, and businesses).

If this tablet is produced with a quad core exynos thats good
then samsung do not need to create a galaxy tab 10.1 replacement as this is IT
so samsung can save up a little from that crazy R&D cost compared to apple

competition makes me happy.
now if they really wanna make me happy, they could be lying about the A9 and be making this the first A15 quadcore tablet. that would be forshnizzle.

I am an artist, and I am still hoping the resolution will be bumped up a little bit in the last minute. Having the same resolution as almost the half-sized Galaxy Note and having an extra on-screen bar to take up screen pixel is a little ridiculous.

@E.J, I soooo agree, my Galaxy Note phone, is off the CHART FOR PURE CRISP COLORFUL DISPLAY. Can you believe they are doing a Galaxy Note phone 2? With even higher res. Guess they are worried about the new LG? But the difference between the Note phone with Super Amoled HD and the Note 10 Tablet with the same 1280x800 is the format of Super PLS. Samsung uses this Super PLS in their commerical monitors of 40" which cost up to $5000. Funny thing is, the Super PLS is cheaper to build then IPS? So my long winded point is, I am sure that if they were worried about the graphics, they must have an ACE up their sleeve on the display. We won't be disapointed. OH, it is not half sized, but the Note phone is 12.3 square inches and the 10 tablet is 42.5 square inches. So the Note tablet is actually 3.45 times larger then the phone. Since the human can only see 300 pixel density, Sammy will come through for us. I know my spellin sux
