Report: Nokia Lumia 928 to launch on Verizon with $25 Windows Phone Store credit

A rumor has come from the land of @evleaks that says that buyers of the oft-rumored but so far unannounced Nokia Lumia 928 on Verizon, will be receiving a $25 credit for the Windows Phone Store; the idea of the credit is to allow those switching to the platform to be able to repurchase some of the premium apps they will lose by abandoning their current OS...

Brilliant idea. Should be available with the purchase of every new windows phone.

I don't think $25 of credit is going to get many people on board. Hopefully the phone itself comes out extraordinarily well in performance and looks.

lolz....install blackmart on android or jailbreak on iOS and get all paid apps for free..which is better, $25 apps or infinite apps?

The attitude of yours is the actual problem. Jailbreak. Jailbreak. Jailbreak. That's all i hear from android users. Are you so stingy to the extent of being unwilling to pay a few bucks for apps and games? App and software developers have a family to feed and they need to earn money. If you jailbreak a phone to root it or use custom roms it;s a different story; if you jailbreak it to for such purposes you are simply being unethical, selfish and inconsiderate.

I'm with you on this. It amazes me how complacent people are with something that completely equates to theft. It's disgusting behavior & it's flat out wrong. I think the same of piracy when it comes to music & movies, too. It destroys the industry & inflates prices for everyone else. I don't buy many apps or make many in-game purchases, but I would never steal them either.

I hate this attitude.. everyone around me has android or apple devices and 90% of those are jailbreaked.. for what? for getting free apps. the people i know are not going for android becasue its open-source (heck they don't even know what that means) or more customisble they do that because they can get apps for free. I am myself a developer (though nothing in the store yet but coming soon) and have decided to go for windows phone for this reason itself. people cant jailbreak or get apps from anywhere else but the store. If you like the app you gotta buy it..it is a great thing for us developers who hardly make any money now-a-days. In the coming months i see more developers getting on wp for this reason and android and ios getting apps for free with in app purchases (just time untill even that gets bypassed) and wp devs generating more revenue than other os devs

Have you ever downloaded a song that you didn't pay for?

I practice this "make up for it" attitude since i love collecting stuff. For example i might have watched the Ironman movies in the cinemas, but i would download a free bluray copy and keep it instead of buying a copy - yup, that's still piracy. But, there is a limit on how much a person can spend, unless you are filthy rich.
And then i make up for it by buying authentic merchandises - those authentic scale models by HotToys which are licensed, a single model can cost up to $400, and limited editions - a lot higher. I have no qualms spending thousands of bucks on this hobby of collecting merchandise. The manufacturers of these products need to pay licensing fees so it is equivalent to supporting the related product.
However, this kind of thing doesnt apply to app purchases. If i can afford big bucks on my hobbies there is no reason for me not to pay 2 or 3 bucks for an app. If CDs and BluRay discs are expensive to you that is understandable, but there are no excuses for not paying for an app when it's priced low. For me i simply prefer to spend on merchandise than on Discs, i cant buy both.

Excactly how I see things by myself.
Although the best games I like, are those with online stuff. These games cannot be used by warez version.

that's one way of encouraging people not just to buy the phone but increase the app ecosystem
