2013 will be remembered as the year Tim Cook Trashed Apple.

no, Cook broke the rule Apple = exclusivity....so there is no reason to buy any Apple product because every one can afford it and their products are completely inferior
just imagine they call smartphone the iToy where you even can not choose your default app!!!
thats not a smartphone, that is just
an iCONBOARD!! with some good games :)

The iPad Mini should be called iRony. Those millions who trashed small tablets and small pixel density of Android devices buy it the most having little impact on the Android sales, so Apple only managed to create competition to itself and is generating far less profit. Same thing will happen if an cheap iPhone will come out, the loyal fan base will step down to mid-range while everyone else will choose Android or W8.

So let's just say Apple ended(dumbest comment ever), what good would it do for anybody? You think Android doesn't need Apple genius? You don't think Google loves having Apple continue to be successful? Without Apple, Google suffers big time dummy!

I'd love to see an end to apple and ios. Makes more room for Tizen and Ubuntu and such. Plus one less thing for those pretentious coffee-shop inhabitants to tent their girly jeans to.

Didn't that dead guy say something about no one wanting a smaller tablet?
Can you say 4.5" or more iPhone?

Got to love it every time Apple has bad news. I have no love for a company wanting to battle competition in a courtroom instead of releasing product that is more superior than the competition. Only a matter of time when the isheeep runs away from the wolf.
Apple can take their 4" iPhone 5s with outdated iOS and shove it up their a$$es come fall time!!!

this tells me that people want cheap stuff.. that's why Android is becoming popular .. Apple makes a below retina display ipad mini and sales take off... is sad that people no longer look quality products and settle for cheap mid range Gingerbread smart phones...

This tells me that days of 9.7 are over. market dynamics keep changing and if one doesn't adapt they end up being RIM and Nokia ... i would put your comment other way round .. people have woken up to fact that iPad is worthless for the money that it sells for and hence are going for other alternatives. Expensive or Cheap is just a perception and nothing absolute. People want more bang for every buck spent :)

Perhaps we are looking at market saturation? Google would probably rather see Apple succeed than fail. After all, they stand to take a huge hit on losing iOS revenues. It's widely known that Google makes more money off of an iPhone than an Android device any day. I would imagine that you all would love to see Apple crumble and Android standing on top. Unfortunately, that would lead to very bad things. Basically, Android would be a monopoly and gain the power to... wait for it... dictate the market with its influence. So in other words, lets kick out the dreaded competition that is regarded as dictatorial in its operation and replace it with a product that would gain the ability to be dictatorial in its operation. Competition drives innovation. Monopolies drive stagnation.

Competition drives innovation
OpenSource is a competition+coorporation = speed up innovation by the power of the number of manufacture.
Apple = courtroom = trouble !!!
Apple = less competition = more lawsuit = less innovation.
We don't need apple for android manufacture to compete. Android alone without apple would be better.
Apple bankrupt = everybody happy

The iPad Mini has been a big hit because of it's form factor, and the most innovative thing since Steve Jobs. ( Yes, more innovative than the Retina Display on the iPad 3)
