Report: 4.5 to 5 inch handset panels seen as being in short supply until August
Besides domestic manufacturers, the report adds that international handset makers will also be launching new models in China during the third quarter which also use the 4.5 inch to 5 inch displays. Additionally, a monthly shortage of as many as 40 million TN panels has been seen as vendors have been cutting production for featurephones and entry level handsets.
With the size of top-shelf smartphone screens growing in size, it is no surprise to see heavy demand for 4.5 inch to 5 inch displays. Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One both fit in this range as does the upcoming Huawei Ascend P2 which is expected to launch this month in the U.K.

I think they need to give the panels to LG, Samsung, HTC, Apple, Nokia, Mototola and Sony. But the panels can only be used for their flagship model. Everything else should be put on hold til the supply increases.

It's "PHABLET" Season... It's time for the "NOTE III" and it's competitors to show themselves... "Flagship Season" is over this year, let the "Big Boys" fight it out. :/

A single individual, or maybe just 2, but they have the power to give you 5 to 6 reds (and give the same number of greens for their own troll comments). Some persistent dude, his comments has been consistently deleted over almost every posts he comments. I guess that gives you the idea.

4.5 inches is still in demand? Or anything less than 4.7 for that manner. I don't know a single renowned Android OEM that's producing a sensationalized device below the latter.

I personally think 4.5-5' is still widely the most preferred size. I wouldnt want anything over 5 inch either, but, if there are no options for me to choose from among the high ends i might have no choice.
