$100 off the iPhone? Ain't gonna happen. Price fixing is price fixing. Apple won't let anyone undercut their price. The Shack might not even be allowed to sell the VZW iPhone in their stores, let alone discount it.

the iPhone 4 is already 149.99 for at&t. and our verizon rep told radioshack, that iphone stores WILL be getting the verizon iphone.

I work for Radio Shack and yes, the I-Phone for Verizon will be 99 dollars this coming Sunday! Believe it, i am the one setting up the display and printing out the price tags!
32. sgogeta4 (Posts: 394; Member since: 02 Feb 2011)
Nope. It's $149, just checked the Shack and it's also mentioned above in the update.

Dude are you blind? He said "this coming Sunday." Also I'd trust the employee "setting up signs and printing out the price tags."

It doesn't matter what the case is. Consumers are getting it at a discounted price at this moment! Thumbs up!

I wonder if that also includes the DROID Bionic?
3. c.hack (Posts: 603; Member since: 09 Dec 2009)
I couldn't care less about a 1 1/2 year old iphone. If anyone is dim enough to buy it they deserve what they get. What will be interesting is if there are discounts for the Vigor and Prime coming out in Oct/Nov.

Radioshack already sells the iphone for att and verizon. They have been partnered with Vzw for almost two years now but only to sell it at there kiosk inside all targets nation wide. And for about 4 months now radioshack has has the iphone 4 with vzw for 150. II thought it was priced fixed as well but apparently radioshack doesnt care about that.
6. Shitty shack employee (unregistered)
the vzw iphone at target mobile kiosks is $199 but the att one is $149, vzw one was only $149 for two weeks before crappy shack didnt buy enough to satisfy demand so they bumped it back up so they dont have to buy anymore. They also have the 3gs at $19 but good luck finding any considering they arent buying anymore

As an employee of the worst company to work for (RadioShack). I would not get your hopes up for them having the droid bionic yet. This company does not like to buy phones esp if they will sell until they have been out for a month or longer. Also if they do have some phones in stock you might want to grab them right away cause radioshack never buys enough inventory to satisfy half the customers coming in to purchase phones. It literally takes close to two weeks to get replenished on a phone you just sold out of. Trust me buy your phone elsewhere. Its usually cheaper somewhere else and that other place will most likely actually have it in stock.

As an employee of Radio Shack, I can tell you that either your store is extremely unlucky, very poorly managed, or you are simply full of crap. While we may not have a massive quantity of phones in stock, we have enough to satisfy our customers. And when we sell out of one phone, our stock is back up by the next shipment (usually within 2-3 days). High-demand phones are always kept in high stock, and if we do happen to be out of a phone, we have many ways to get the phone to the customer, if not that day, then within a day or 2.
As far as price is concerned, wherever you go, there will always be somewhere cheaper than the last place. Our prices are almost always better than Best Buy's as well as corporate Sprint Stores, and we treat our customers much better than they do.

totally agree with the s**tty shack employee i recently walked out on radioshack was worst job i ever had. was promised to make over 60 grand a year as store manager. total was more like 30 because what this gentleman said. In order to make bonus u had to sell which is impossible when you never have a stock. Sure you might get lucky and get your phone discounted when they have it but if u have a probally dont expect any help. itll take weeks and youll be sittin with a broken phone

hello knucklehead!!! Who really accepts a job and don't do their research. If you would looked up on salary.com or glassdoor.com you would of realize you couldn't make 60k a year. Maybe if you live in California or New York.

Sorry you did not like your job at RS. My experience as a customer has been great though. The employees at our local RS are all helpful and knowledgeable. Unlike BestBuy or Costco. I used to buy Verizon phones at RS back when they had them 5 or 6 years ago and was always very very happy with their service

dont be all butt hrt that you couldnt cut it at your meager job, the shack does well and pays well (fact)
radioshack vzw lineup (confirmed as of last wednesday)
droid incredible 2
blackberrry curve 3
samsung intensity 2
no word on waived activation fees but some discounting will be in place at launch (sept 15th at most locations)
it will be a nice lineup and the vzw reps are very excited about it due to the success of vzw in the target mobile side of the business so stock should be ok (not great)
should be fun to see what happens:)

Well all of you complaining employees must suck at selling phones or can't attach so that is why you hate your job. If you knew how to sell you would be happy here. Ok with that said, let me clear up a few things. First, every store that sells verizon will have the droid bionic in stock. Second that list is larger then the phones that will be available at launch. There will be 9 choices on Thursday. Third, in a decent store where employee actually sell you get shipments of phones twice a week.

I've been with radio shack for 2 years now and love working there. There are always problems at any job bit I have had the least at the shack. Come in and get all your phones no matter who your provider is for 50 to 100 bucks cheaper than corporate stores

I bought my EVO 3D from the Shack and I am really glad I did. It was a better deal than Sprint, and a better deal than Best Buy. Also, the people helping me were cool. The manager of the store near my house has been with the company for a many years and he enjoys the job.
16. randomradioshackemployee (unregistered)
Working at radioshack is not the best however I did have a peak at next weeks ad listing the verizon thing and in the fine print it says some models excluded. Also we were told we would have the droid bionic on the 15th and I didn't see any in the back I do believe we had the iPhones though. Although being a customer at the shack is great you get one on one help you won't find at any other retailer until lots of money is involved at radioshack we help people solve even the smallest of problems, I just wish we got paid fairly.

I work for Radio Shack, first in a strip store, then a mall kiosk, now a Target Mobile. I have to say that this isn't the worst job there is, especially with the benefits, holiday pay, and the commission is always nice. Wanna work for the worst company? Go get hired at Gamestop. Dear god, that is the worst company EVER. I was Assistant Manager and I love how they fired me for purchasing a game from my friend, off the clock, nowhere near the vicinity of the store. Apparently I'm supposed to point that friend to Gamestop to trade in his game so I can buy it from Gamestop, or else I'm considered stealing. Yup. Awesome company.

when it comes to the shack you have to sale, I manage a store in probably the most country part of v.a. I still manage to bring home atleast 1200 per check and my lowest rep brings 600 highest rep 800, it's not about where you're located but more about technique and building a bond with people so they can bring you more buisness.
19. DownSouthLivin (unregistered)
That is only about 36K a year. If you managed a Burger King you would make about 10K a year more. Considering what Radio Shack usually expects from its managers the pay is nowhere near enough. That coupled with the fact that if you miss your numbers a couple months in a row then you might just end up on the chopping block.
20. charulo (unregistered)
Would they honor the new every 2 discount? Or is that just a verizon thing?
22. homie (unregistered)
They don't honor the new every two but, usually the price that you get at the shack would be about 100 or so less, aka charge for 200, x2 for 100, and so on.

OK, The fact is you can already get $100 off on Verizon smartphones as it states above "for smartphones with a two-year contract and a qualifying data plan. ". If you go into a Verizon store you will find out that the "Qualifying data plan" is the amount a new customer pays when signing up for a new data plan I(I believe he said $50) which is more then what existing customers are paying (Under $50) on the unlimited data plan. . So if you are like me and already have unlimited data with Verizon you pay less then the new plans and do not qualify for the $100 off.
My guess is this is going to be the same deal at R.S.
And frankly, I'm really feeling SCXXXED.
25. THE SHACK EMPLOYEE (unregistered)
The iphone 4 will be $149 for verizon. also you do get to keep unlimited data if you want. we will not make you change your data plan to get this discount. Our phones are simply $100 cheaper than the verizon stores. Dont let a verizon store rep talk you out of getting a phone at Radio Shack with this kind of BS. And as far as working for radio shack goes. The pay is not as good as some other comanies but it pays my bills and I have been a happy employee for 3 years. We are always good about keeping phones in stock and if your store doesn't that is simply bad management in your store/district. Also, if you are really going to complain about pay you dont need to be working with this company. you are obiously not cut out to be in a commission based sales position.
26. Monie (unregistered)
Do you know if radioshack will be getting the Samsung Sch-U370 verizon phone?
29. gargoyle (Posts: 14; Member since: 17 Aug 2011)
lol what i would do is is take a flyer to best buy mobile they price-match any in-store local price so u would get the same price with the better service. the only thing they don't price-match is online prices.
30. IHuntInDE (Posts: 13; Member since: 31 Mar 2009)
Has anyone checked this out online yet? It gives the discount but looks like it is trying to require me to upgrade to a more expensive family plan... The smallest family plan I can choose is a 700 minute plan for 100 bucks a month. I am currently on a $50 500 minute plan that is more than enough. I want the Bionic but won't double my bill monthly to get it for $100 off.
31. IHuntInDE (Posts: 13; Member since: 31 Mar 2009)
Well I just went to my local store, about 15 minutes after they opened, and purchased the Bionic. $199.99 plus I am going to put in the rebate info for my new every two.. so I will have paid $169.99 for the phone when its all said and done.
33. Flip213 (unregistered)
Good luck with the new every two- When The Shack processes upgrades, they have to choose "no" on new every two.
34. IHuntInDE (Posts: 13; Member since: 31 Mar 2009)
Well.. the rebates thing didnt work. So I called customer service and explained the issue. She put me on hold for a coupe of minutes and came back and said that Radio Shack should be able to apply the new every two, even with the $100 discount and that she isn't sure why they didn't. So, instead she gave me a $30 discount off of my next months bill. Good enough for me.
I'm off to "Control Everything" for $169.99.

I will be upgrading my old Droid very shortly. I have a question, I have got my old phones through Verizon. Are there any hidden cost or disadvantages from not buying from Verizon directly? A $200 Bionic or $100 Droid 3 seems to be the big advantages.
37. Amber (unregistered)
scott c where in any add did you see that cause i also work for radio shack and there is no such deal you are a lier and full of s**t!!!!!stop putting bad press out there for us. we have them but not for that price.
38. Gannon (unregistered)
also offering 100$ trade in on working phones for people upgrading from basic phones to smart phones. so that makes it a $200 savings for new smartphone users
