Radio Shack takes larger cut from Apple iPhone 5 price tag

Radio Shack is widening its discount for the Apple iPhone 5 and the Apple iPhone 4S. From now through December 17th, the electronics retailer is offering a $50 discount on all carrier versions and storage capacities. For every $50 spent at the store, the customer will also receive a $10 email coupon. The discount applies to in-store purchases of the handset, so you will need to visit your local Radio Shack store to take advantage of this deal.
Earlier this month, Radio Shack had a more limited sale which took $20 off the price of the Sprint and AT&T branded Apple iPhone 5. But Best Buy announced that it was chopping $50 off the price of both the Apple iPhone 5 and Apple iPhone 4S on Monday, requiring Radio Shack to meet the big box retailer on price to stay competitive.

So, let's say hypothetically, you purchase a $700 iPhone: does that mean you get an instant $50 discount, making the purchase price $650 and, then, you get an email coupon equivalent to $10 x 13 or $130??
If so, not bad!

if you want to pay full retail then there is no $50 discount, but if you sign up for a new/upgrade 2 year contract then you pay only $149.99 :)
