Radio Shack offering Back to School deal on Samsung Conquer 4G
Radio Shack announced today that it would offer the Samsung Conquer 4G for just $69.99 with a 2 year contract starting August 21st. This is the time of the year when stores start to offer "Back-to-School" specials. To qualify for the price, a data plan costing at least $10 monthly must be subscribed to and there is a $36 activation fee. If you decide on the Samsung Conquer 4G, you had better be sure that you can see yourself with this phone for at least the next 2 years as there is an Early Termination Fee of $325.

You will not confuse the Samsung Conquer 4G with the Galaxy S II. The 3.5 inch screen has resolution of  320 x 480 and under the hood is a single-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. While Android 2.3 is installed, the camera on back is 3.2MP with AF. Yes, there is a front-facing shooter aboard, coming in at 1.3MP.

The low-end specs make this a great phone to give Junior as he heads off to college or for the first time smartphone user, or for someone on a tight budget who needs a smartphone. Radio Shack offers its "Trade and Save" program that allows you to get some value by trading in your old handset. And while $69.99 on contract is a low price for a handset, we might point out that as we reported, WalMart has the same device for free with a two-year contract.

There is an error in this article, the early termination fee on Sprint is only $200, not $325.

Plus the early termination fee is reduced each month after the first year
