RIP: HTC Evo Shift 4G and White HTC EVO 3D

A couple of Sprint smartphones are about to flatline, the HTC EVO Shift 4G and the HTC EVO 3D in white are both in jeopardy, although the black variant of the latter is safe from extinction; despite its upcoming EOL designation, the white HTC EVO 3D is still expected to get the Android 4.0 update...

Noo the white HTC EVO 3D is awesome. I was on the edge of getting that phone before I was convinced to get the SGSII Epic 4G touch (which I don't really regret but still). Sad to see it go, wish they'd keep it. The Evo Shift has had a good time although I believe there are 4G phones on sprint that deserves to go before the Evo shift. Sad day, ah well. LG Rumor touch has been up for a long time, but was one of their best feature phones. and to see the HTC EVO 4G go would be heartbreaking too... but I guess technology has to keep moving forward...

I was in the same position and bought the same phone, I got the SGSII in white last week. I love the thing!

My guess would be because that the white EVO 3D is a radio shack exclusive. The Sprint website actually offers a plum colored version which I think would be even less popular

Why does he refer to LG so much, what does LG have to do with this? These are both HTC phones.

I have had all 3 colors of the EVO 3d and currently have the white one and by far the white looks the best but, it seems poorly crafted both myself and my co worker, me being a Sprint tech and she being in sales both have the white 3d and although we both have defender series other boxes we use the back comes apart from the front chassis. The silver bezel chips. I've yet to drop it. And before I put it in the case I noticed because of the grooves on the back it retains dirt. The only white phone I've seen do it thus far. So as a work around I kept my purple back which oddly fits snugly.

My Evo Shift was an absolute beast, far and away the toughest phone I have ever owned. I plan on staying with the HTC's for a long time because of that phone.

RIP Evo white. You were the most beautiful of all the 3 colors, but sadly it came later and was only a radioshack exclusive
