RIM's tablet is speculated to offer a 1GHz processor & front-facing camera
With a formidable force in the smartphone market, there was no denying that RIM would also be getting in the new business venture of crafting tablets – even more so when rival competitor Apple is already soaking in the success with the iPad. According to Rodman & Renshaw analyst, Ashok Kumar, RIM will be targeting a period some time close to the end of the year to launch their BlackBerry tablet. It's also speculated to employ a 1GHz processor under the hood on top of the 7” display it'll be flaunting. In a recent research note he said, “Research In Motion (RIMM, Market Perform) is trying to pull forward the launch of the 7-inch touchscreen tablet from early next year to year end...with a marginal point of differentiation being the front- and back-facing cameras for video conferencing.” However, RIM did not comment about the speculations, but it would be unimaginable for them to not respond with their own offering – especially when they compete head-on with Apple in the smartphone market.

this is more of a mini tablet...i wonder if it'll also be a phone...some of the dell "tablets" recently launched were kinda like that...what i wanna know is what is BB going to do to get "developers, developers, developers"...make some real apps and not be so expensive and really compete with apple and google in the app world

bb os is outdated despite bb being the best messaging device, and rim is still lagging way behind on the browser, so i cant imagine at all what the tablet is going to look like....
