RIM working on Gmail plug-in for BlackBerry devices?
Those BlackBerry users who have suffered through the less than stellar Gmail support on their handset, will be happy to learn that RIM is apparently working on an "Enanced Plug-in" that will bring Gmail capabilities of your RIM device up to snuff. Among the improvements, you will be able to see your Gmail email in "conversation view". You will be able to Archive and Report as Spam letters in your Gmail box while on the move. Searching the entire Gmail box will be possible and adding or removing labels and stars from Gmail letters will be possible.

A beta version of the plug-in is in the process of being tested inside RIM and outside the company by a few lucky volunteers.

I've never been upset with the Gmail support on my Blackberry, it functions as I would expect. I receive emails instanntly, can delete them from my mobile device or inbox completely. It would be nice if this means we'll be able to use our gmail calendar as if we had our gmail account on a corporate blackberry server, but other then that I don't have any complaints.

You can't be serious with that "it functions as I would expect" comment. Obviously you have low expectations. I don't know 1 "Real" BlackBerry user that believes the lack of "proper" imap support for Gmail on the BlackBerry is ok or considered funtioning as expected.

I keep in mind it's operating over pop and it's free. I'm satisfied considering it's free.
