I would like to see blackberry make a come back. A three hourse race will make for some serious advancments.

See no reason why RIM can't stay competitive. They still have 20% or greater of the world wide smartphone market. New, quicker devices will keep them in that range.

I hope. Still have a small spot in my heart for the my first smartphone.

They have been fading its time for them to advance.

what do you mean a 3 horse race? It's already a 3 horse race with iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 7.

i wonder if os7 will be available for older models

3. snowgator posted on 25 Jul 2011, 21:40 1 1

No. RIM announced a while back no legacy device support for OS7. The processors in the current devices are not compatable.

Also, please buy with caution: The gossip on 2012 devices is that they will need dual-core to run the next OS, as it will be based off of the Playbook. So, this years devices may not get that software update. Just a "buyer beware" thing.

Jdog... have you not seen ANY of the recent posts of the blackberry monza?!?!?

10. snowgator posted on 26 Jul 2011, 00:30

Monza doesn't have the Sure Press touch screen, so is not a direct Storm 2 follow up. There were rumors about another Storm-style device, I have no idea if they are doing it or not.

Can't wait to switch back to 9790 Berry its keyboard and hopefully superb battery life.

Sick and tired of the touch screen phone and its keyboard, not to mention horrendous battery life.

RIM do us all a favor and close the doors. Your products are terrible and the new operating system will be a joke just like the rest of them. You are done!

I'd like to see RIM make a comeback too. I'm sure a lot of developers, advertisers, etc. etc. would like to see a 3 man race between Apple, Google, and ANYBODY ELSE. However, I have some serious doubts that this push is gonna be what puts back in the race.

Oh wait, maybe I should correct myself, according to their CO-ceos they never left the race :P

Good luck BlackBerry.
