Blackberry really needs to come out with a device that's even remotely competitive.

That last outage was it for me. I just can't see them bouncing back after this because it happend just in time for the iPhone 4S release. RIM just gift wrapped and hand delivered millions of potential customers straight to Apple.

Why apple??
Why not android???

I really don't understand the tendency of U.S news forcing people to iphone.... android sell more phone compared to iphone... and most BB user would fell like home with android + hardware keyboard.... not to mention that all of that BB user already have the skill to use the most un-user-friendly phone on earth, so using android is a walk in the park.

My bet on BB fiasco, 87% goes to android, 10% goes to symbian, 3% goes to iphone, 1% goes to WP7.

why 10% goes to symbian, symbian is mature enough, and E6 with blackberry QWERTY keyboard style is great replacement for BB. not to mention E7. and also the E5 for teenager.
why 3% on iphone.... no hardware QWERTY
wh 1% on WP7.... the OS is not mature enough

I only said the iPhone because it was perfect timing. The outage struck around the time the 4S became available, and when most people are upgrading, they look for the latest new phone...the 4S was only hours old at the time, so I think a lot will go for it. Butone thing that works against Apple is that many BB customers love to customize. Those users wil most likely gravitate to Android.

I purchased the BB BOLD 9930 nearly a month ago. I had been a dedicated BB user, but the bugs in this one pushed me over the edge. Aside from the query board, it is a piece of junk. I have multiple issues with OS7. I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with two BB representatives who acted like I am the only one facing software issues. I think there is a breach of implied warranty of merchant ability. Are there other owners experiencing problems? Tell me about it. Maybe united, we can get bb to acknowledge they need to address customer complaints.

Well, that depends on the error code that follows. If it's JVM error 501, I think is a lost cause, but there are a few others I have been able to fix by completely restoring the device, OS, PIM data and all. So if you have the Blackberry desktop manager on your computer, with an OS update and a recent back up, you could get it working again. But I understand if that was the last straw. They'll mostly NOT give you an iPhone 4S, only because it's the hottest phone right now and they can get new contracts or full retail for them all. Hopefully you're still within the test period, or else they will try an give you another Blackberry or a low end Android. But good luck!
