In a few days, Dick Clark will be bringing in the New Year for the 40th year in a row. This year, however, RIM will be paying most of the tab. Team BlackBerry took to its blog yesterday to announce that this year, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest will be sponsored by BlackBerry.

I kind of wish they would have put this money towards research and development for their products...or even in finding new talent...

Exactly. It's good for marketing purposes, but when people go into the stores or online to get their new Blackberry they'll see that it's nothing "Bold" about it other then the price tag. Crazy they expect people to pay the same price or higher for their outdated phones, when you can get a High-end Android, iOS or even Windows phone w/ better specs, apps, games, displays, etc.
