Still getting apps on wp7, I mean you are with Blackberry but Im sure BB 10 will get most of the app attention. Don't get me wrong I want to get the 9930, but in terms of productivity and apps wp7 has a lot more going on, for me at least.

Paul Thurrott is not an employee of Microsoft. He is a technology evangelist geared towards Microsoft products.

Microsoft HAS NOT stated this. They have stated that WP7 apps will be able to run on WP8, but have not yet shut down the upgrade path.
The longer they wait though, the more unlikely the upgrade path seems likely.

why so defensive, are you scared your phone wont get the update, it happens man, my EVO isnt getting ICS, every company does this, its how they get you to buy a new phone, if you want new you have to buy new, updates are not a garenteed promise anyways, ms is a business, so why wouldnt they try to maximize profits by not updating current phones, thus forcing people to buy new phones if they want windows 8

That is a real shame, but I suppose its probably because the BB7 devices are probably just not powerful enough to handle the new OS, which runs buttery smooth but its multitasking features will probably be a lagfest on the much slower hardware of BB7 devices.

This has been stated time and time again. I'm sure it's totally possible to put some form of BB10 on current high end handsets like the 99xx series. However, it would have to be a stripped down version and with the single core 1.2 ghz processors in them, it would likely be not the best experience, and the media would just run with that against RIM next. I'm a Bold 9930 user and I read BB10 wasn't coming to it when I got the Bold before Christmas. I'm ok with that although it would be nice. I have my PlayBook for those needs already and when the time comes for an upgrade, then I'll be looking to a BB10 handset then.
By the way, typed all this from my 9930 and it renders Phone Arena's site just fine. No complaints from me. :)

Well seeing how my OS7 device is supposed to be the most current, i can imagine it having support for sometime. However, by the end of this year if RIM does not impress, i will shift another direction.

RIM is a sinking ship. BlackBerry wont see my upgrade!
