The problem for RIM is the continued loss of market share. Every quarter brings more loss of market share. If the BB10 handsets ship at the end of 1Q2013, the sales won't be booked until 2Q2013. That is an eternity in the smartphone business. Apple will be shipping the iPhone 5 in October at the latest. More Android handsets will be shipping in October as well. The entire XMAS season is going to pass RIM by.

There is a reason investors are dumping RIM stock.

and the sad thing is, their marketshare losses are bigger in a quarter than WP7s TOTAL marketshare! They could bleed themselves dry if they aren't careful. Then WP7 will be #3 finally, at 2%, LOL

I must appologize...I had lost faith in RIM for about five minutes but...Well Not going to lie... I'm anticipating this more than a key-lime pie nexus device, Sixth iteration of an iPhone, and anything windows related...RIM I hope you can dodge these knives being tossed at you... To be honest you got a lot of ground work to do and this time take your time....Damn, I'm stating this like an actual RIM representative will read this. lol

So a while ago, me and my friend decided to get a new phone. I went for the Htc Desire, my friend instead wanted the BB Torch 9800. And so it went...
Well at first look the BB felt more premium, bisness-look, cool-slide-ing-keyboard.
Now...well, now its completely different story, with my Desire I can navigate the web very fast, skype, text with Swype, e-mails... lots of games and apps avaible. First i was angry for picking up the Desire, but boy, now im more than happy. It may be a 2 year-old device but trust me it keeps rocking. So to make my point: BB needs to keep up with the technology, and deliver all the goodies or it life isn't long...

Mformation Technologies will receive $147.2 million from RIM after a Federal Court in San Francisco ruled... RIM has been in very big troubles none stop.

Alright - as I just cannot help myself, I have to take the other side of the argument....

What if RIM isn't done? What if BB10 is worth the wait? What if the still large CrackBerry crowd comes out strong for BB10 after skipping BB07 (which we all know truly isn't competitive against other OS' out today)?

They have large cash on hand, still strong subscriber base, a huge overseas presence, and a still heavy business and government base that refuses to leave the secure RIM servers, who are again pumping money into BB every month. And, yes, the advantages of using the same basic design on phones is that their R&D has been extremely low except for their BB10/ Playbook projects.

Yes, their new sales are in the tank, they have no Cloud services to speak of, designers are more excited for WP8 than BB10. Okay, so maybe their stock and investors are tanking, and unlike Nokia they have no one to share the lose. And okay, iOS, Jellybean, and WP 8 are all going to have huge jumps on the new BlackBerry OS. And come to think of it, RIM hasn't knocked it out of park with hardware, and also is facing backlash from the carriers over their extra charges for their secure data plans, and are also not being pushed anymore than WP, and......

Wait!! I was supposed to be defending them!!!!

I AM SO STUPID!!! DARN IT, DARN IT, DARN IT!!!!

RIM would be more successful if this idiot of a CEO leave or gets fired. what the hell is wrong with the board of directors?

16. Droid_X_Doug posted on 15 Jul 2012, 21:45

RIM's Board of Directors need to leave along with the CEO.

17. speckledapple posted on 15 Jul 2012, 22:10 1

Actually for the first time in years, he sounds like a CEO with a plan for one, a method to executing that plan, and honesty about what is really going on in RIM. The previous two co-CEO's lacked those qualities by ignoring the iPhone, dimishing then creating tablets, and plainly saying clueless things in interviews. This guy is obviously nothing like that.

21. thedarkside posted on 16 Jul 2012, 09:32 1

he sounds like an idiot. blackberry is done for. id say by this time next year they file for bankruptcy.

13. Samsomesh posted on 15 Jul 2012, 21:14 1

Bb 10 is worth waiting but upto that windows8 will come into game and then it will be a tough fight.!!omg troble for bb jelly bean is also coming

14. JcHnd posted on 15 Jul 2012, 21:28 1

The thing is, they're not doing much things to improve, they keep doing the same old business that apple and google took from them with innovation... and I agree maybe a complete new board of directors would help, maybe releasing less expensive and atractive phones would help a lot too... but no, they're just in denial, so maybe BB will mean bye bye in a near future...

18. tigermcm posted on 15 Jul 2012, 23:26 1 1

is seriously doubt bb10 will have anything better to offer that iOS 6, Jelly Bean, or WP8 won't have all together. Just sell yourself to somebody instead of pushing back the release of bb10

19. StreetNerd posted on 16 Jul 2012, 05:48 3 1

Just adopt WP8!

20. tigermcm posted on 16 Jul 2012, 06:19 2
